In this position you will serve as the Information Technology Specialist responsible for installation, configuration, maintenance, and administration of all software, hardware, and components of the network systems for 412th Force Support Squadron. Provides administrative support to the 412th Force Support Squadron local area network (LAN) and specialized business systems. Plans, tests, and configures the entirety of network systems. Plans, monitors, tests, maintains, and operates multiple operating systems squadron network platforms. Analyzes and resolves problems and trends. Records problem reports as they occur to effectively track outages and types of interruptions to service and to build a knowledge base for future problem resolution. In order to qualify, you must meet the Individual Occupational Requirements. Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Information Technology Management positions located here. GS-5 through GS-15 (or equivalent): For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. The employing agency is responsible for identifying the specific level of proficiency required for each competency at each grade level based on the requirements of the position being filled. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: NH-02 GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of general experience at the next lower broadband NH-01 or equivalent to the next lower grade GS-04 in the Federal Service. General experience providing technical assistance and support to customers. Monitoring operation of network systems. OR NH-03 SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower broadband NH-02 or equivalent to the next lower grade GS-11 in the Federal Service. Specialized experiences is providing technical hands on assistance, training and support to customers. Troubleshoots hardware and software problems. Installs, configures, and maintains network hubs, switches, routers, and servers. Researches, evaluates and provides feedback on problematic trends and patterns.
