Summary About the Position: This announcement is for current, permanent Army employees that would like to be considered for a time-limited promotion, reassignment or change to lower grade. This is a Term Appointment Not to Exceed (NTE) 3 Years, may be made permanent. Responsibilities The scope of the position includes supporting the Division/District/Site at the assigned physical location(s) as well as the enterprise mission. Prepares for, and provides guidance to, cyber security related inspections including, but not limited to, Command Cyber Readiness Inspections (CCRI), Security Control Assessors (SCA), and Inspector General (IG) organizational inspections. Performs a wide range of activities supporting the Division/District/Site including vulnerability management, media destruction, Personal Identifiable Information (PII) loss reporting, classified spillage reporting and wireless scanning. Verifies initial and annual IA/Cyber Security training and certification for all individuals. Supports the IT Chief in maintaining the Cyber Security posture and addressing IA and Cyber Security related matters. Refer security alerts and serious security vulnerabilities for investigation, isolation, eradication, and recovery. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience GS-12: One year of specialized experience which includes:(1) Implementing and enforcing IT security policies and procedures; AND (2) Performing system/network accreditation activities under an established framework or process; AND (3) Reviewing new IT security requirements to determine impact to existing procedures; OR (4) Performing change management to minimize impact to the production system/network. All experience areas shall additionally demonstrate each of the following competencies: 1) Attention to Detail; 2) Customer Service; 3) Oral Communication; and 4) Problem Solving. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11.) Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Cybersecurity Information Resources Management (IRM) Information Systems/Network Security Information Technology Policy and Planning Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11). Education Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required. Salary includes applicable locality pay or Local Market Supplement. Preference will be given to right candidate residing in the local commuting area. Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs is not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government interest. Position may be filled as a time-limited promotion, reassignment or change to lower grade not to exceed (NTE) 3 years by a current permanent Army employee. Time-limited promotions may be extended up to a maximum of five years. Time-limited reassignments and changes to lower grade may exceed five years, however return rights may be impacted. Position may be made permanent without further competition. If applicable, return rights may be negotiated upon selection.
