Summary You will serve as a Security Control Assessor Representative, responsible for validating, maintaining, and/or developing Assessment & Authorization (A&A) packages in accordance with applicable Department of Defense, Department of Navy, and Intelligence Community directives. You will provide support to Information Assurance Management and customers including project managers, administrators, and developers. This position is located at HOPPER GLOBAL COMMUNICATIONS CENTER in Suitland, Maryland. Responsibilities You will validate, maintain, and/or develop Assessment and Authorization packages in accordance with applicable Department of Defense (DOD), Department of Navy (DON) and Intelligence Community (IC) directives. You will incorporate knowledge of complex Cyber Security Controls to ensure protective measures maintain and strengthen confidentiality, integrity and availability of information and information systems. You will provide Assessment and Authorization recommendations and guidance regarding information assurance (IA) and assessment problems. You will provide direct support to the Information Assurance (IA) Management and customers to include project managers, system developers and system administrators. You will conduct security and vulnerability analysis and general security controls reviews. You will utilize risk management techniques to develop and complete risk assessments based on National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) standards to ensure Cyber Information Assurance (IA) design sufficiently mitigates Cyber IA risk. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below: Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. In addition to the competencies listed above, your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GG/GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Provide Assessment & Authorization (A&A) related recommendations and guidance regarding Information Assurance (IA) and assessment problems; Administer cyber security controls to ensure protective measures maintain and strengthen confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information and information systems; Conduct periodic security reviews of information systems and implement security safeguards; Provide recommendations on cyber Information Assurance (IA) standards, implementation dependencies, and changing technologies; Provide technical oversight and enforcement of information security directives, orders, standards, plans, and procedures.
