Summary You will serve as an IT SPECIALIST (NETWORK) in NCTAMS LANT DET SOUDA BAY, Greece. This position is a DoD Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system position in the Excepted Service under 10 U.S.C. 1599f. Responsibilities You will be responsible for all operational planning, execution, and support providing enterprise network services and Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) telecommunications services. You will function as the lead coordinator with other divisions for integrated support with cryptographic services and cybersecurity services to meet customer’s operational requirements. You will manage the Overseas Navy Enterprise Network (ONE-Net) Local Network Service Center (LNSC). You will use 'Remedy' to measure tickets opened and closed in the support of touch labor. You will work with the Information Assurance (IA) Division to ensure proper compliance for Certification and Accreditation, this will include patching systems, updating key IA applications, and supporting TNOSC IA when necessary. You will serve as the Operations Security (OPSEC) Program Manager and will manage the Detachment's OPSEC program in compliance with policy. You will perform duties as the Technical Advisor (TA) for Operation and Maintenance support for the ONE-Net and the future Next Generation Enterprise Network (NGEN). You will advise and provide guidance to management officials of the supported customers regarding their IT and compliance requirements. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Applicant must have directly applicable experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Directs Local Network Service Center (LNSC) personnel in touch labor requirements of One-Net Systems throughout the command and supports in the development and maintenance of command One-Net systems. 2. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Provide support and direction for strategic, operational and technical projects. 3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Advises the Technical Director (TD) on matters pertaining to operational plans and programs, studies, policies and procedures for network and telecommunications services. 4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Skill in the application of analytical techniques to solve complex and unstructured functional, technical and organizational management problems. Qualifying experience would be demonstrated by: 1) Using the knowledge of the architecture and typology of software, hardware, and networks (e.g., LANS, WANS, telecommunications systems, their components and associated protocols and standards and how they operate and integrate with one another) to provide network services that support an organization; 2) Implement, operate, monitor, troubleshoot and/or maintain network systems and associated activities; 3) Planning, installation, configuration, testing, implementation, and management of the systems environment in support of the organization's IT architecture and business needs; 4) Test, monitor and evaluate Information Technology (IT) technologies during design, development, procurement and/or implementation to ensure internal and external requirements are met; and5) Ability to communicate complex, technical information clearly and concisely both orally and in written format to technical and non-technical personnel.
