IT SPECIALIST (NETWORKING)
Summary You will serve as an IT SPECIALIST (NETWORKING) in the INFORMATION SYSTEMS DEPARTMENT of NAVINFOWARDEVCEN NORFOLK. Responsibilities You will assist in the enforcement of the command cybersecurity program ensuring the command’s security posture is implemented, maintained, and balanced in its networks, systems, and applications. You will configure and operate new technologies and report security incidents detected by the new technology. You will provide continuous monitoring of activities (e.g. security impact analyses, routine vulnerability scanning ). You will work closely with IT infrastructure and applications teams to ensure that processes and solutions meet or exceed security and certification requirements. You will provide support for continuous operations and overall health of the Live Virtual Construct (LVC) and its network components. You will provide technical leadership in the areas of IT project management. You will provide support analysis, planning, design, documentation, assessment, and management of the IT enterprise structural framework to align IT systems with the mission, goals and business processes of the command. You will provide budget requirements in support of annual financial budget portfolio, the Information Technology Procurement Request (ITPR) process, and its frequent reviews, for applicable networks, systems, and applications. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience applying knowledge in the information operations (IO) discipline of Computer Network Operations, specifically, monitor, analyze, testing and development of Computer Network Defense (CND) and applying network systems design, development, testing and installation. Experience applying knowledge of telecommunications, hardware, and software vulnerabilities (IAVA's) worldwide monitoring on Navy LAN and Virtual Private Networks (VPN's), cybersecurity policies and Computer Network Defense (CND). Experience with network related operating systems (Windows, UNIX, Linux, and Cisco IOS) hardware systems, network applications and devices, including servers, workstations, switches, routes, firewalls, and VPN devices. Experience planning, implementing, managing, tracking, evaluating, and adapting systems and networks. Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving.
