Under the supervision of the IT Manager, the IT Specialist's role is to support and maintain computer systems, desktops, peripherals, cell phones, etc. This includes installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading all hardware and software while ensuring optimal system performance. This person will also troubleshoot problem areas in a timely and accurate fashion and provide end user training and assistance where required.\n
This position is per diem- meaning it is as-need and there is no guarantee of hours.\n
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY:\n\nSoftware installation and troubleshooting.\nSet up workstations with computers and necessary peripheral devices (switches, printers etc.)\nProvide orientation and guidance to users on how to operate new software and computer equipment\nProvide Tier I\/Tier II support for all desktops, laptops, tablets, printers, and other computing equipment.\nAssign and troubleshoot cellphone issues (iPhones and Android)\nAssist with junior level network administration\nPerform onboarding of new employees\nRespond to technical questions by phone, email requests, tickets and users dropping in at the IT Department Office.\nCreate, change and terminate Microsoft Active Directory and Exchange user and machine accounts. Add, change and terminate access to network resources through file\/folder management via group creation, share restrictions, security lists, etc.\n\n
WHAT YOU MUST HAVE:\n\nMinimum of 2-5 years IT support experience in a Windows \/ Active Directory environment of 50+ users\nWe have multiple office locations - This position requires some travel so reliable transportation and a valid driver's license are required\nRelevant technical experience in the following areas:\n\nSetup, configuration, troubleshooting of desktop\/laptop hardware and software\nWiFi-enabled devices\nRemove Users\nBusiness related desktop\/web apps (we expect you may need to learn any specific systems we use)\nSolid knowledge of Windows10 Professional operating systems, Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook365, MS Teams, Azure MFA, and Active Directory\nExperience providing support via remote tools\n\n\nExtra consideration given to candidates with:\n\nMAC OS\nNetworking fundamentals (TCP\/IP, DNS, DHCP) in a LAN (multiple switches + VLAN's) and WAN setting a plus\nKnowledge of cyberscurity best practices (firewalls, Endpoint Detection & Response software, SPAM filtering)\nRelevant certifications (A+, Network+, Microsoft Enterprise Desktop Support Technician) a plus\n\n\nRequired soft skills:\n\nOutstanding Customer Support\/Service Skills to include effective communication and strong interpersonal skills required\nExcellent problem-solving skills\nAbility to provide step-by-step technical help to users, both written and verbal, in person and over the phone and via remote share session.\n\n\nThe ability to successfully pass all Veterans Inc. pre-hire testing including, but not limited to CORI\/Background and drug screening\nCompliance with Veterans Inc. COVID-19 Vaccination Policy. Religious and Medical Exemptions are considered.\n\n
