IT Specialist (Systems Analysis)
Summary This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Office of Information Technology, Enterprise Systems Solutions Group (ESSG), Division of Medicare Systems Support (DMSS). As a IT Specialist (Systems Analysis), GS-2210-12, you will develop, maintain, and continuously improve information technology (IT) data systems. Responsibilities Evaluate new software products or participate in pilot projects to analyze procedures and make recommendations on implementation approaches. Assist in providing technical assistance, consultation and training to staff and contractors. Represent agency on internal/external technology workgroups. Coordinate, attend, and present at meetings and seminars concerning policies, projects, and data related to assigned areas of responsibility. AND In order to qualify for the GS-12, you must meet the following: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one year (52 weeks) of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal government, obtained in either the private or public sector, to include: Managing agile processes, analyzing help desk operations, customer relationship tools (e.g. Salesforce, ServiceNow, Qualtrics), or IT help desk metrics to identify trends and draw conclusions regarding IT system or process improvements; Overseeing the resolution of help desk incidents impacting multiple users and collaborating with multiple business partners to gain consensus and resolve issues; AND Making recommendations on IT help desk contract negotiations related to pricing, performance, compliance, or technical terms. Substitution of Education for Experience: There is no substitution of education to meet the specialized experience requirement at the GS-12 grade level. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. This Act increases healthcare spending by nearly $100 billion, mainly by extending the American Rescue Plan's temporarily-expanded Affordable Care Act (ACA) premium tax credits for an additional three years, through 2025. The bill will also allow Medicare to negotiate prescription drug prices, implement improvements to Medicare Part D including a benefit redesign and new manufacturer discount program, impose inflation rebates for Part B and Part D drugs, and other miscellaneous changes in Part B and Part D to improve the affordability of prescription drugs. Workplace Flexibility at CMS: This position has a regular and recurring reporting requirement to the CMS office listed in this announcement; however, CMS offers flexible working arrangements and allows employees the opportunity to participate in telework combined with alternative work schedules at the manager's discretion.
