**GENERAL DUTIES**
I.T. Senior Associates perform highly complex professional work in technology-related disciplines. While areas of specialization vary, typically I.T. Senior Associates perform a range of work in development/programming, communications, technical support, or similar functions depending on the needs of the Information Technology area to which they report. Work tasks include diagnosing, evaluating, overseeing and resolving highly complex projects. They have wide latitude for independent initiative and judgment and may serve in lead roles on complex programs or projects, and/or serve as a direct supervisor of a unit or group.
I.T. Senior Associates should demonstrate mastery of one or more technology-related disciplines, decision-making ability in situations related to those disciplines, and be able to serve as a resource in these areas. They may contribute to decisions on I.T. policies and technical standards.

**CONTRACT TITLE**

**CAMPUS SPECIFIC INFORMATION**
This position reports to the Director of Systems and Network Administration. The IT Sr Associate - Levels 2(Network Engineering) is entrusted with the
design, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of the college’s network infrastructure.
Responsibilities include ensuring the network’s efficient and secure operation through close collaboration
with various IT teams and campus units.
Responsibilities include the analysis, testing, troubleshooting, and evaluation of existing network systems,
including local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), cloud networks, servers, and other data
communications networks. This individual will also oversee network maintenance activities to ensure
continuous and reliable network performance with minimal disruption as well as play a crucial role in
coordinating technology efforts across the college, working to advance the division’s mission and the
broader objectives of the institution.
Specific duties include:
• Design and implement complex network architectures, including LANs, WANs, and cloud
networks.
• Perform complex day-to-day management of the network (wired and wireless), telecom (Cisco VoIP,
mobile service), and information security
• Perform management of Cisco Catalyst IOS and Palo Alto appliance platforms
• Perform management of the HPE Aruba wireless, HPE Aruba Clearpass, and HPE Aruba
Airwave platforms
• Manage and maintain network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, wireless access
points, and network access controller
• Monitor network performance, conduct assessments, and diagnose and resolve issues.
• Implement and manage security measures to protect the network from threats
• Enforce network security policies and implement procedures, standards, and operational controls
for technology operations, infrastructure, and applications.
• Maintain up-to-date documentation and procedures for network, and information security aspects
of the campus infrastructure and operations
• Provide advanced support to the IT Helpdesk and ensure alignment with operational and security
standards.
• Collaborate with the college CISO to manage and enhance cybersecurity systems, reducing risks
from malicious attacks.
• Support incident management and coordinate notification and resolution processes for network
and information security incidents.
• Assist in the communication with CUNY Central and other campus constituents on information
security awareness and breach procedures
• Participating in professional development and other activities as directed
• Work closely with other IT teams to implement procedures, standards, operational controls,
processes and communication paths for the monitoring and support of the technology operations,
infrastructure and applications.
• Stays current with new developments and industry best practices to incorporate into operational
management and planning for enterprise systems.
• Analyzes current platforms and recommends products, architecture strategies, and development
strategies and ensures scalability and accessibility of applications and services.
• Exercise discretion in handling sensitive information, ensuring confidentiality.
• Manage and mentor junior network technicians and provide guidance on professional development.
• Foster a collaborative work environment and encourage knowledge sharing.
**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS**
1. High School Diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent
2. An equivalent of ten years of experience post-high school that can be met by one of the following: ten years of full-time work experience in a computer or technology related position; an Associate's degree plus eight years of full-time work experience in a computer or technology-related position; or a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution plus six years of full-time work experience in a computer or technology-related position
3. Demonstrated English Language proficiency
4. A Motor Vehicle Driver's license, valid in New York State, may be required for some, but not all positions.
This title has three levels. In addition to the minimum qualifications above, To qualify for Levels 2 and 3, additional qualifications, such as education, experience, or certification relevant to the area of specialization are required.
**OTHER QUALIFICATIONS**
PREFERRED:
1. 10 year of relevant IT networking experience
2. 2 years using Cisco Catalyst Center and/or Aruba Networks platform experience
3. 2 years of Palo Alto NGFW / Panorama experience
4. 2 years of Palo Alto Global Protect experience
5. Industry certifications such as but not limited to Cisco CCNA/CCNP, CompTIA Security+, Aruba,
Palo Alto.
6. Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science
**COMPENSATION**
IT Sr Associate - Levels 2 $99,599(salary subject to change based on new contract implementation and CUNY service history.)
