**GENERAL DUTIES**
I.T. Senior Associates perform highly complex professional work in technology-related disciplines. While areas of specialization vary, typically I.T. Senior Associates perform a range of work in development/programming, communications, technical support, or similar functions depending on the needs of the Information Technology area to which they report. Work tasks include diagnosing, evaluating, overseeing and resolving highly complex projects. They have wide latitude for independent initiative and judgment and may serve in lead roles on complex programs or projects, and/or serve as a direct supervisor of a unit or group.
I.T. Senior Associates should demonstrate mastery of one or more technology-related disciplines, decision-making ability in situations related to those disciplines, and be able to serve as a resource in these areas. They may contribute to decisions on I.T. policies and technical standards.

**CAMPUS SPECIFIC INFORMATION**
The City College of New York (CCNY) is the founding institution of the City University of New York (CUNY) serving over 16,000 undergraduate and graduate students and 5,000 faculty, staff and researchers. We are seeking a skilled Student Computer Lab and Assistive Technology Coordinator to serve as a manager within the Office of Information Technology (OIT). Reporting to the Director Frontline Support Services, this position will work in close collaboration with the Director of AccessAbility Center/Student Disability Services.
In this capacity, the Coordinator will manage OIT computer labs and provide technical and administrative Support coordinating the assistive technology needs of our college community in accordance with CUNY's Voluntary Compliance Agreement and the Americans with Disabilities Act.
The CCNY TECH Center hosts over 300 workstations and five (5) technology enhanced classrooms where instructors teach classes and students work both independently and collaboratively. This facility is sectioned into general computing areas, technology-enabled student training centers, media study rooms, and two-person study rooms. The AccessAbility Center includes counselors who support students and equipment reserved for students who require assistive technology accommodations, including accessing information, computer workstations, and assistive technology.
He/she will foster strong partnerships with executive staff, student group leadership, administrative and academic offices, and various OIT technical units throughout the college to promote technology initatives and generate feedback and ideas for innovation.
**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS**
1. High School Diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent
2. An equivalent of ten years of experience post-high school that can be met by one of the following: ten years of full-time work experience in a computer or technology related position; an Associate's degree plus eight years of full-time work experience in a computer or technology-related position; or a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution plus six years of full-time work experience in a computer or technology-related position
3. Demonstrated English Language proficiency
4. A Motor Vehicle Driver's license, valid in New York State, may be required for some, but not all positions.
This title has three levels. In addition to the minimum qualifications above, To qualify for Levels 2 and 3, additional qualifications, such as education, experience, or certification relevant to the area of specialization are required.
**OTHER QUALIFICATIONS**
Key Responsibilities:
+ Oversee daily operations of OIT Tech Center and AccessAbility technology resources, ensuring optimal functionality and user experience.
+ Recruit, supervise, and mentor lab monitors, technicians, and administrative staff.
+ Advocate for and implement best practices in accessible technology, staying abreast of emerging technologies and methodologies.
+ Serve as a key liaison between university and college leadership, faculty, staff, students, and researches on matters related to technology utilization and accessibility.
+ In Collaboration with other IT Managers and Systems administrators, ensure IT devices are managed and maintained in compliance with the College's IT standards
+ Maintain desktop computing infrastructure and support computer labs, including hardware support access controls, inventory, software distribution, data storage, and IT security measures.
+ Develop comprehensive training programs to ensure staff are proficient in computer lab operations and utilizing assistive technologies and accessibility best practices.
+ Provide technical support expertise for a wide range of assistive technologies, troubleshooting complex issues and implementing innovative technologies, troubleshooting complex issues and implementing innovative solutions.
+ Make budgetary and technology recommendations to maintain and upgrade lab equipment, software, systems, and supplies to meet evolving academic needs.
+ Ensure strict adherence to ADA regulations and other accessibility standards across all technological platforms.
+ Manage a robust short-term lean program for assistive devices, ensuring equitable access and proper maintenance.
+ Spearhead the procurement and production of accessible, alternate format material and establish efficient processes for converting educational materials into various accessible formats (e.g., Braille, large print, audio).
+ Coordinate special events, exams, and maintenance schedules in lab spaces, ensuring minimal disruption to regular services.
+ Generate detailed reports on service usage, technology effectiveness, and accessibility metrics
+ Maintain and enforce IT security measures, in conjunction with the office of Information Security and other OIT department, by continuously evaluating and enacting proactive security measures and responding to IT security incidents
+ Maintain through documentation of all computer labs and assistive technology resources, procedures, and user guides
+ performs other duties as assigned.
**OTHER QUALIFICATIONS**
+ Experience deploying customized software packages in Microsoft, Apple, and Linux environments
+ Experience configuring, operating, calibrating, and maintain high-volume printers
+ Extensive technical expertise in various assistive technologies and accessibility software, including E-text, Kurzwell, Dragon Naturally Speaking, Zoom Text, etc.
+ In-depth knowledge of ADA requirements and current best practices in digital accessibility.
+ Extensive experience supporting personal computing devices
+ Experiences providing systems training in a college or university work setting
+ Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage, train, and motivate diverse staff
+ Excellent problem-solving abilities and proactive approach to addressing technological challenges
+ Superior communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to various audiences.
+ Proficiency in multiple software applications, including ITIL service desk, Microsoft 365' and learning management systems
+ Relevant certification in assistive technology or accessibility (e.g., CPACC, WAS) are a plus
**COMPENSATION**
$91,298

Part-time employees must meet a weekly or semester work hour criteria to be eligible for health benefits. Health benefits are also extended to retirees who meet the eligibility criteria.
