Technological Assessment and Evaluation
Conducts continuing assessment of the performance and reliability of current information management system.
Keeps abreast of developments in applications and technology.
Reviews and identifies departments needs for technology enhancements in software and hardware and recommends improvements in IT applications, telecommunications and networking systems and infrastructure to support business strategies and goals.
System Implementation and Maintenance
Directs and manages customer IT Support. Ensures that IT specialists provide the required timely assistance to individuals and work units.
Formulates and issues basic guidelines for help desk staff and users to anticipate and respond to FAQs.
Evaluates recommendations and proposals from third party vendors.
Monitors the timely implementation of project plan for conversion, replacement or elimination up to testing and installation to ensure integrity, quality and timeliness of work output.
Data Administration and Warehousing
Designs the necessary network infrastructure and monitors its workability.
Maintains and assigns the password and controls to guard against unauthorized access.
Ensures the regular maintenance of back-up data and its physical safekeeping and storage to prevent data loss.
Planning, Organizing and Monitoring
Identifies critical activities of section vis a vis company objectives to develop sound work plans.
Identifies the risk-prone areas in IT operations and provides countermeasures to mitigate such risks.
Sets priorities and allocates resources, in accordance with department targets and business plan.
Sets, approves and monitors KPIs, metrics, timetables and reporting requirements for his section.
Problem-solving and Decision-making
Defines broad criteria to guide subordinates and the IT group in problem-solving and decision-making.
Uses quantitative, objective, rational as well as more qualitative factors to analyze problems and makes sound decisions area of authority.
Commits to decisions and acts quickly on issues to move things forward.
People Management
Cascades company directions, policies and programs to subordinates and assures implementationof people policies.
Establishes good working relationships and coordination with other departments.
Performs other related functions that may be assignedfrom time to time.
