Differs from IT Statewide Operator 2 by the absence of independence in performing basic tasks in support of statewide print, mail, computer console or batch production functions. The Office of Technology Services will work to increase the return on the State’s investment in technology by promoting smart decision-making, solving problems intelligently, increasing the rate of project success, and fostering a skilled and professional staff. 20% Establishes and maintains proficiency when modifying JCL, parameter files, dates, and file names for daily batch production runs for all job schedulers based on job set-up instructions. Ensures daily batch production runs are correct by reviewing job set-up work performed by lower level or other production control staff. 20% Establishes and maintains mastery when setting up new jobs and modifying existing jobs for all job scheduler systems. Monitors and resolves scheduling conflicts while coordinating with PSS console operators, application programmers, and database staff. Available as an on-call resource. 20% May function as lead worker over lower level production control technicians as needed to ensure all job schedule systems are correctly set up for daily batch production. Assists supervisor in documenting changes to established procedures and training lower level production control staff. 10% Reviews previous night batch production runs and contacts appropriate application programmer or database staff about failures of non on-call jobs. Assists application programmers with the reprocessing of jobs as needed. 10% Provides quality assurance for system printed output by checking for errors and guiding console operators in making corrections to output. 5% Receives and uploads data files for state users, federal users, and partners. Responsible for proper rotation of tape backup media for several systems. 5% Updates daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual job scheduler system calendars as directed by application programmers. 5% Perform all other tasks, special projects, analysis, studies, and plans as directed. 5% Participate in professional development opportunities to improve skills and technical knowledge.
