The DRP, Storage, and Backup Engineer (Cloud-Enabled) is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing resilient storage, backup, and disaster recovery (DR) solutions across hybrid infrastructure—including on-premises environments (VMware, Hyper-V), Azure Cloud, Azure Stack HCI, and other supported platforms. This role is crucial in ensuring the integrity, availability, and compliance of enterprise-wide data, leveraging cutting-edge technologies to protect business-critical workloads.
**RESPONSIBILITIES:**
Strategy & Planning: **Lead the planning and architecture** of DR, backup, and storage strategies that span on-prem (VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud (Azure, Azure Stack HCI) environments. **Develop long-term strategies** for capacity management, data lifecycle policies, and disaster recovery across hybrid platforms. **Collaborate closely** with infrastructure, application, and compliance teams to align backup and storage goals with business continuity and regulatory requirements.
Acquisition & Deployment: **Design and implement** backup and storage solutions using Veeam Backup & Replication (on-prem), Veeam for Azure, and Azure-native backup tools. **Manage Dell Data Domain appliances** for data protection, deduplication, and secure offsite retention. **Configure and maintain** Dell PowerStore storage arrays for structured and unstructured workloads, including VM-based environments. **Plan and execute workload migrations** from VMware and Hyper-V to Azure, ensuring backup/DR coverage during and after transition. **Utilize Terraform and Azure Arc** to manage hybrid backup policies and DR automation. **Optimize infrastructure** using tools like Azure Cost Management, Azure Advisor, and Veeam ONE.
Operational Management **:** **Administer backup and replication jobs** for VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V, and Azure VMs, ensuring adherence to RPO/RTO targets. **Manage and test backup/restoration workflows** using Veeam Enterprise Manager, Azure Backup, Azure Site Recovery (ASR). **Ensure storage performance and availability** using systems like Dell PowerStore and Dell Data Domain. **Regularly perform DR drills** across on-prem and cloud environments using Veeam and Azure Native Backup. Configure and enforce data protection policies across multiple environments, ensuring encryption, access control, immutability, and legal hold where applicable. **Configure and maintain Wasabi cloud storage** as a long-term, cost-effective backup target across tools like Veeam and Azure Backup, with immutability and legal hold support. **Monitor backup operations and storage health** using Nagios (on-prem) and Azure Monitor (cloud), with proactive alerting and root cause analysis. **Monitor, analyze, and report** on backup success, DR readiness, storage utilization, and compliance using dashboards and reporting tools. **Create and maintain comprehensive documentation** for configurations, processes, and recovery procedures.
Team Collaboration & Governance: **Provide expert-level support** for backup/DR escalations and collaborate with global teams to standardize backup policies and practices. **Guide junior team members** and cross-functional partners on the implementation and maintenance of DR and backup solutions. **Participate in audits and compliance reviews** , delivering backup reports and supporting remediation efforts where needed.
**REQUIREMENTS:**
+ Relevant licenses or certifications are required.
+ 10-12 years of experience in relevant fields, including:
+ At least three (3) years as a Hybrid Infrastructure Engineer, working with 24x7 critical systems following ITIL framework and in projects, working with stakeholders following structured methods. Five (5) years preferred.
+ At least three (3) years with on-prem, hybrid, and cloud platforms (VMware, Hyper-V, Azure Stack HCI, and Azure Cloud). Five (5) years preferred.
+ At least three (3) years of system administration experience (Linux/Unix or Windows) at the command-line level.
+ Experience configuring Wasabi cloud storage for long-term archival, immutable backup repositories, and integration with tools such as Veeam and Azure.
+ Technical experience with designing, building, installing, configuring, and supporting storage servers and management software, including Veeam and Wasabi.
+ Experience automating infrastructure provisioning using Terraform and managing hybrid environments with Azure Arc.
+ Basic knowledge of troubleshooting layer 1, layer 2, and layer 3 issues.
+ Strong communication skills to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders and ensure end-user satisfaction.

+ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Information Technology/Engineering, a related field, or equivalent work experience. Advanced degree preferred.
