POSITION SUMMARY:
The IT Strategy and PMO Director is responsible for overseeing the execution of strategic initiatives within the IT department. IT Strategy and PMO Director role involves leading project management processes and tools, ensuring the successful delivery of IT enterprise programs/projects, and driving the overall IT strategy. In addition, the IT Strategy and PMO Director will lead the exploration of new technologies such as GenAI and how it could be utilized to enabling Duravant’s business objectives. The PMO Director will collaborate with IT and business leaders to manage resources, scope, and ensure expectations and value are achieved while addressing challenges and removing obstacles. This position includes managerial responsibilities for a team.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Strategic Planning and Execution: Develop and implement IT strategies that align with the organization's goals. Oversee the planning and execution of key strategic initiatives. Project Management: Lead the project management office (PMO) and ensure the effective development, planning, and execution of IT projects. Establish and enforce project management standards, methodologies, tools, and best practices. Resource Management: Allocate resources across projects according to priorities, schedules, and budgets. Ensure optimal utilization of resources to achieve project goals. Governance and Compliance: Define and implement governance frameworks for IT projects. Ensure compliance with organizational policies, standards, and regulatory requirements. Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with IT and business leaders to identify and manage the pipeline of strategically aligned growth opportunities. Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among stakeholders. Support the IT Executive Steering Committee with prioritizing investments. Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks associated with IT projects. Develop and implement risk management strategies to ensure project success. Performance Monitoring: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and reporting mechanisms to monitor the progress and performance of IT projects. Ensure timely and accurate reporting to senior management. Partner with the business owners to define value management metrics and to ensure they are met once production deployments have completed. Change Management: Develop change management deliverables that can be used to accelerate the user adoption of new capabilities. Innovation and Improvement: Drive exploration of new technologies and implement low-cost proof of concepts to validate business cases.
POSITION SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred. Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in IT strategy, project management, or a related field. Proven experience in a leadership role within a PMO. Experience with implementing projects following Agile practices. Skills: Strong leadership and management skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in project management software and tools. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines. Certifications: Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar certification is highly desirable. Strategic Thinker: Ability to think strategically and develop long-term plans that align with organizational goals. Problem Solver: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to identify issues and develop effective solutions. Collaborative Leader: Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and build strong relationships with stakeholders.
