What You Will Do:
Responsible for conceptualizing, designing, and executing technology initiatives and projects for public health and healthcare agencies. Responsible for providing direct advice and support to federal government executives and end users. Will incorporate portfolio, program, and project management, strategic planning, process improvement, performance management, and ongoing monitoring and evaluation best practices and techniques into the oversight and delivery of transformative technical consulting projects.
Key activities include the following:
Identify client needs and develop solutions to address these needs
Scope and staff projects to meet client requirements
Develop work plans that reflect project scope and client expectations
Provide oversight and development of work products from start to finish (from brainstorming and framework development to final edits and end-product)
Exemplify and reinforce quality standards in work products
Ensure compliance with contract terms and conditions and internal firm policies
Develop trusted relationships with clients
Provide direction, feedback, and coaching to team members
Interview client leaders and staff, and analyze qualitative and quantitative information to develop themes, identify issues and root causes, and develop recommendations
Facilitate strategic planning, process definition, and/or business requirements gathering sessions with client staff
Conceptualize and execute data collection, analysis, and reporting
Develop presentations and brief clients
Understand firm capabilities and solutions
Enable new business through supporting proposal and thought leadership efforts
What You Will Need:
Bachelor’s degree
6-8 years of professional experience, with 5+ years of experience supporting federal agencies or state agencies
Demonstrated experience implementing IT project management best practices
Working knowledge of various IT project management methodologies (e.g., Agile)
Experience managing delivery of consulting engagements and leading teams
Experience with performance measurement and/or evaluation: establishing metrics, collecting qualitative and quantitative data, performing data analysis, and developing impactful data visualizations
Experience advising/briefing senior executives
Advanced proficiency with MS Office tools: Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Strong oral and written communication skills
What Would Be Nice To Have:
5+ year of consulting experience
Working knowledge of CDC’s Enterprise Performance Life Cycle
Demonstrated experience in implementing IT governance practices
Master’s degree
PMP, Scrum Master, or performance measurement certification
Public health experience and/or education
Experience working at or consulting with the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) or state, tribal, local or territorial public health agencies
Business development experience securing $1M+ annual contracts in the private or public sector
Experience with technical assistance programs
Experience with public health systems and tools at the federal, state, or local levels
Experience developing proposal and white papers for federal clients
Proficiency with Power BI or other dashboarding/visualization tools
Experience leading and facilitating meetings, trainings, or workshops with executive-level clients
