Position Information Position Information Position Availability: Position Title: IT Student Assistant Specialist, Academic Technology Requisition Number: 0406073615 Location New York City Position Type: Student Department: CA/Information Tech Responsibilities: Academic Technology is seeking a Student Assistant Specialist, who will support upgrade projects and initiatives related to the functioning of classrooms, computer labs, and other student-supported spaces at The New School. Such projects and initiatives include, but are not limited to, new computer hardware setups, audio visual equipment cleaning, organizing and cleanup of our storage spaces, and preparing decommissioned AT equipment for E-Waste disposal.

RESPONSIBILITIESÂ May include, but not limited to the following: Assisting technicians with MAC and Windows computer replacements. Assisting with classroom AV equipment cleaning. Organizing and cleanup up Academic Technology storage spaces. Preparing Academic Technology equipment for E-Waste.
WORK MODE On-Campus Position – Employees in this position are expected to work on-campus during regularly scheduled work hours due to the nature of the work being that which is not feasible, or not in the best interest of the organization, to be performed remotely. Available to work at least 3 shifts per week, up to 19 hrs/week during Fall and Spring semesters, possibility for up to 35 during the Summer.
HOURLY RATE$17 per hour Minimum Qualifications: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Comfort in assisting with basic technology troubleshooting and support. Stellar communication skills. Ability to assess problems, troubleshoot, escalate, and report on issues. Ability to maintain focus and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment. Ability to collaborate with multiple teams in the Information Technology organization. Must be tech-savvy with a willingness to learn basic technical troubleshooting, and follow basic instructions.
