IT Support Engineer

 

 

The candidate for IT Support Engineer will be self-motivated, hands-on, and customer service oriented. 

 

Perform troubleshooting, repair, and installation of desktop and server equipment for broadcast and corporate efforts. Support desktop users across all departments. Perform day-to-day maintenance of software and hardware systems. Provide support for the video production and On-Air video/graphics computer systems. The position requires a solid foundation in computer networking, network protocols, IT, network engineering, and operating systems. Additionally, premium skills in WAN, AWS, Azure, IT infrastructure, and experience with data centers are highly valued. Knowledge of LAN, IDS, IPsec, load balancing, cloud security, RedHat, system administration, VPN, firewall, and VMWare will also benefit this role. Proficiency and experience in VMware ESXi, Linux, and Active Directory are essential for success in this position. This individual ensures system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to CBS core Miami values and best practices. 


RESPONSIBILITIES:

Serve as the first point of contact for desktop computer hardware, software, printers, and Active Directory issues. Work with users to resolve issues as they arise. Administration of network resources across all departments. Monitor the health of critical computer systems. Maintain software patches and desktop/server software as mandated by corporate standards. Maintain up-to-date documentation of computer systems and create SOP’s. Work with vendors to resolve issues. Provide users with basic software training. Other duties assigned by the Manager to support the broadcast initiatives. IT tasks include user account creation, refreshing user devices, setting up user profiles, installing applications, software updates, patch deployment, and asset tracking. Admin tasks include network printer support, daily server backups, document, and monitor issues, maintaining corporate compliance and documentation; and configuring, deploying, and supporting IT connectivity to broadcast equipment throughout the studio and transmitter sites. Apply virtualization technologies such as VMWare ESXi and vSphere to maintain data center operations. Support Active Directory services and Linux environments within the IT infrastructure. Experience in Windows Server administration and troubleshooting. Windows Server 2012 and above (Installation, configuration, troubleshooting) Active Directory (Configuration, troubleshooting) Hardware support (RAID failure, etc.) Experience in building virtual environments using VMware. Creation of ESXi hosts. Experience in the use of VMware vSphere and maintenance of vSAN. (Preferable) Knowledge of RedHat Enterprise Linux Proficient in AWS or Azure environments. Advanced use of various Windows Server operating systems and applications and services. Remote Desktop Services, DNS, DHCP. Advance use of out-of-band management tools.  Proficient with Group policy creation, and solve. Advanced solve experience with Windows 10\11and Office 365, including OneDrive, Teams, and SharePoint. Proficient with macOS and Adobe Creative Cloud suite. Advanced use of Operating system deployment tools and concepts like MDT. Advanced with common patch application MECM, BigFix, WSUS, JAMF Pro Proficient use of OneDrive, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, and SharePoint Advanced with iPhone, iPad, and other various 5G / 5G+ / 5GUW devices, Experience with Android is a plus. Previous experience and ability to install, maintain, upgrade, and configure standard broadcast television equipment is desired.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

Proven organizational skills and attention to detail. Strong customer service skills. Strong written and verbal skills. Ability to multitask and handle multiple projects at once. Strong desire to learn and grow and to work in a fast-paced environment. Ability to think analytically and solve issues Knowledge of desktop and laptop hardware. Demonstrable experience with Windows Client OS and Microsoft Office Suite. College degree preferred. Able to lift and carry at least 30-50 lbs. Valid Driver’s License Minimum 7-10 years of related work experience

 

PREFERRED:

Microsoft Server and Client certification preferred! Experience with LAN administration. Experience with Active Directory/AZURE and AWS. Experience with VMware Experience with VxRail, Hyperconverged Infrastructure Knowledge of Cisco switching environments Experience with Avid iNews Experience with Video Editing Systems Experience with MAM media asset management systems. ITIL Foundation certification Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) – Cloud Platform & Infrastructure Hyper-V MCP or VMware Certified HPE or Dell Storage certified Cisco or HPE networking certified
