What we need: Mohawk is seeking an IT Support Specialist who will be responsible for supporting all production hardware-related issues reported through the Support Center. Troubleshoots hardware and software issues.  Documents hardware-associated policies and processes for use by all support groups. 

 

What you’ll do:

Provide technical support for production equipment for local and remote locations, including Production designated PCs, vehicle-mounted PCs, network-connected and specialty printers (including label, thermal, impact, wireless & truck mounted), thin client terminals, tablets, and RF equipment, including hand-held scanners, and vehicle-mounted scanners.  Perform Site moves without direct supervision, including safe assistance in dismantling, transportation, and installation of gateways, routers, switches, WAAS devices, VOIP telephony, PCs, monitors, TVs, network & specialized printers, time clocks, etc.  Travels as needed to support remote sites and relocations. Properly diagnose and resolve software and hardware configuration problems, working with network, server, and application support teams as needed. KRONOS administration, including setting up new time clocks, resolving user or clock error codes, managing clocks' firmware, and working with SAAS provider. Operation and administration of Stay linked servers, including port and connectivity; add new units and servers as needed to support recent distribution locations. Operation and administration of multiple MDM servers, including license and client admin, creating, and deploying installation packages and patches to truck-mounted PCs, maintaining remote control functionality, Troubleshoot problems using remote management capabilities and networking troubleshooting, including WIFI, wherever needed. Use the Support Center incident database to track, update, and close tickets. Work closely with IT Management, Support Center personnel, and other IT technologies and applications staff to support business. Operation and administration of IO Emulation servers, including license admin, port, and connectivity. Operation and administration of BARR servers for AS400 IPDS print support, including port and connectivity and adding new units. iSeries / AS400 knowledge of devices and menu use.

 

What you have:

Associate or bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science or related discipline required or technical certifications displaying knowledge of standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a specific field. Must have or achieve related experience in end-user support of network printers, MDM, and devices. Must have technical knowledge of network cabling and experience in hardware troubleshooting.

Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with peers in other areas of IT organization, which are essential for maintaining good public relations, facilitating communication, and soliciting user feedback. Ability to work independently and follow documented procedures and checklists. Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment and be customer-focused, intending to provide quality service for the client. Attention to detail and presenting and explaining technical information in a way that establishes rapport and gains understanding. Organizational ability to redirect skills to support new technologies while maintaining current commitments; ability to perform in a high-pressure environment and crisis and render good decisions to resolve problems, maintain safety, and ensure adherence to the Corporate Code of Conduct Assist in managing and maintaining computer and software license records and lists and determining PC equipment and software needs, sources, and pricing.
