WJCL, the ABC affiliate in Savannah, Georgia is looking for a Broadcast IT Specialist to join our team. You will help oversee the IT operations at our station and work with a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment. The IT Specialist is a member of the Broadcast Technology Team performing maintenance on computers, virtual systems, network infrastructure, printers, providing user support, and supporting the broadcast technology infrastructure of the station. This role reports to the Engineering Director.
Responsibilities
Support user needs across all departments, including News, Creative Services, Sales, and Administration Maintain imaging machines, updating firmware, and managing hardware inventory Perform systems upgrades and new platform deployments Provide technical guidance to end-users and mobile device support Maintain LAN/IT infrastructure, installation, and support of network hardware and software Occasional travel to news bureau, transmitter, and other remote equipment locations Analyze and implement corporate data back-up, disaster recovery and security procedures Work closely with technology management and team to identify needs and solve problemsRequirements
Excellent communications skills, willingness to work cooperatively in a team environment, and a customer-service oriented attitude and approach Advanced troubleshooting / analytical skills Excellent problem-solving abilities and skill in prioritizing issues Knowledge of Microsoft Windows desktop and server operating systems Working knowledge of managed network switches and architecture concepts Understanding of OS and software deployment – Imaging, Package Deployments Understanding of security applications – Crowd Strike. Okta MFA Experience with networked, stand-alone printers and digital copiers VPN, Cisco equipment, TCP/IP and subnets, NAS, LAN Management Higher education in technology, SBE certification or related military experience preferred VMWare, Cisco, or Microsoft certifications preferred Prior experience with a large user base preferred Experience in the television broadcast setting preferred In-person attendance is requiredDiversity Statement
