In addition, our mechanical capability enables us to self-perform the most technically challenging mechanical, fuels and energy work.www.cmscorp.com CMS is currently looking for anIT Support Specialist II The IT Support Specialist II is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of computer and mobile device systems. This position involves providing comprehensive technical support for both hardware and software. Responsibilities include installing new devices and software applications, diagnosing and troubleshooting technical issues as they arise, performing necessary repairs, and conducting regular maintenance to optimize performance. The specialist is also responsible for documenting support requests and resolutions, assisting users in understanding how to utilize their technology effectively, and staying updated on the latest advancements in IT to provide informed solutions. + Track and monitor all help desk requests to ensure timely resolution + Answer user inquiries regarding computer software or hardware operation to resolve problems + Set up equipment for employee use, performing or ensuring proper installation of cables, peripherals, and appropriate software + Install and perform minor repairs to hardware, software, or peripheral equipment, following design or installation specifications + Provide user support/technical training + Help develop training materials + Mentor and train new IT Support Specialists + Other duties as assigned Requirements + Knowledge and experience in managing and supporting PC systems, iOS devices, and printers + Experience with troubleshooting and providing hands-on technical support/training + Knowledge and experience with client imaging + Knowledge and experience supporting Microsoft 365 + Experience supporting remote clients and mobile devices across multiple time zones + Strong knowledge of network services, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and GPO management + Strong knowledge of networking protocols: TCP/IP, DNS, NFS, FTP, SSH, SMTP, SNMP, SSL, and HTTPS + Approachable personality with a professional customer service focus + Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical people + Strong planning and organizational skills + Ability to recognize, analyze, and effectively solve problems promptly using industry best practices and procedures + Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing priorities + Ability to work effectively in a team environment Education and Experience + Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related degree and 2 years prior experience in the IT + Associate’s Degree in Computer Science or related degree and 4 years prior experience in the IT + High School Degree and 7 years prior experience in the IT industry Reporting Structure + Reports to the Information Technology Director + This position does not have direct reports Travel + 0-5% Travel Required + The frequency of travel may be adjusted as needed to accommodate specific tasks Physical Requirements Sedentary work in a climate-controlled environment with moderate noise levels. Most duties performed require the use of a computer, phone, and in-person or virtual meetings. Maintain a stationary position for prolonged periods during the shift. Constant operation of computer and other office equipment such as copy machine, phone, and printer. Occasionally transport objects up to 15 lbs. such as small parcels, packages, and other items.
