IT Support Technician

LRS is in need of an IT Support Technician for a 6 month contract opportunity with our client in Colby, WI. If you’re that person, submit your resume now! We’re seeking a hands-on IT Support (Level 1–2) Technician to join our team, supporting our client in Colby, WI and surrounding locations during a critical IT migration. This position is essential in providing both on-site and remote support, managing hardware deployments, troubleshooting end-user issues, and supporting IT infrastructure at the field level. The ideal candidate is self-sufficient, responsive, and thrives in a dynamic environment with evolving support needs.
Required:
Must have 4+ years of experience in IT support, preferably in a manufacturing or field-based environment.Strong working knowledge of:o Windows 10/11 setup and troubleshootingo Active Directory (basic user/admin tasks)o PowerShell (entry-level scripting, reporting)o Microsoft Intune (for mobile device management)Experience imaging laptops and troubleshooting desktop hardware.Must be able to lift and move hardware (monitors, printers, docking stations).Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel occasionally to support nearby sites.Candidate must be able to effectively communicate in English (written & verbal)Candidate must have permanent authorization to work in the USA for any employerPreferred:
Printer and AV equipment setup experience.Familiarity with ticketing systems and standard ITIL practices.Experience supporting software rollouts or infrastructure migrations.Knowledge of basic networking (IP addressing, cabling, switch ports).
Key Responsibilities:
End-User Hardware Support
Perform initial laptop setups Install, configure, and troubleshoot desktop PCs, laptops, monitors, printers, scanners, and mobile devices (iPads).Provide hands-on support for peripheral issues including docking stations, monitors, and headsets.Mobile Device & Intune Support
Configure and support iPads using Microsoft Intune, including device wipes and application deployment.Train users on iPad login/setup and basic troubleshooting for self-maintenance.Track, patch, and maintain iPads and mobile devices as part of the overall fleet.Networking & Infrastructure Tasks (Basic Level)
Basic network troubleshooting: connectivity issues, port patching, cable tracing, and IP assignments.Support wireless network access issues, coordinate with network teams if needed.Assist in identifying hardware needing replacement or reconnection during infrastructure changes.Field Services & Physical Installation
Perform physical hardware swaps, mounting, or device placements (printers, APs, scanners, etc.).Provide boots-on-the-ground support at Colby and travel to other nearby locations when required.Work with contractors and vendors during on-site installs or infrastructure updates.Printer & Conference Room Support
Set up and troubleshoot network printers and multi-function devices.Support users with printer mapping, driver installations, and paper jam/toner issues.Provide light AV support—connecting displays, configuring conference room setups, and helping users with audio/video issues.User Support & Ticket Management
Serve as the first line of support for local users; resolve incidents related to hardware, access, and applications.Perform account lookups and permission changes using Active Directory.Use PowerShell to extract user/device data or assist with administrative scripting tasks.Follow escalation protocols and coordinate with higher-tier support when necessary.Operational Transition & Project Support
Support laptop deployments ahead of an August target date, ensuring all users receive hardware and onboarding assistance.Assist in transitioning end-user support from on-site to remote by training users on using the ADM service desk.Help document local configurations and standard procedures for ongoing support.Qualifications & Skills:Required:

Hourly rate between $20 - $125 per hour
