It Support Technician
**Job Title: IT Support Technician** **Job Description** Performs the installation, repair, and preventative maintenance of personal computers and related systems. Assists in determining suitable software to meet user requirements and manages required supplies for printers (excluding paper). Installs software, patches, and updates on desktops, laptops, and personal devices. Keeps accurate tracking of all assets supported by Deskside and maintains PC assets in both a physical and logical manner. **Responsibilities** + Provide 1st line technical support for end-users' computer hardware and software, printers, and network connectivity. + Troubleshoot software and hardware failures and identify network problems related to personal (desktop or laptop) end-user computers. + Assist the Network Administrator/Analyst in troubleshooting end-users' network-related issues. + Interact with vendors to facilitate repairs of hardware, including printers, laptops, and desktops. + Perform image builds for use on all desktops and laptops. + Read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings. + Assemble data bar units, including fastening, drilling, attaching, and building complete units. + Perform control wiring throughout individual units if working in the electrical area. + Handle general labor duties such as stocking, inventory, or unwrapping raw materials. + Use hand and power tools to perform assembly tasks. + Read drawings to determine the necessary parts for assembling finished products. + Maintain a production pace to meet daily unit completion goals. + Work with Windows 10, troubleshooting, CEVA printers/Xerox printers, and provide desktop support. + Perform label printing and handle imaging of machines, troubleshooting hardware/software issues, and replacing components like RAM and hard drives. + Assist with purchasing hardware/software onsite and manage limited PC configurations. + Install licenses via server and check inventory for repairs or order new supplies based on issues. **Essential Skills** + Troubleshooting + Desktop support + Windows + Windows 10 + Label printing software + Service Now ticketing system **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Experience with older systems (Windows XP to Windows 10) + Ability to work at a production pace + Experience with various ticketing systems + Familiarity with network troubleshooting **Why Work Here?** The company is a leading provider of critical power infrastructure, incorporating LV switchgear, busduct, and automation systems across diverse industry sectors such as Data Centres, Energy from Waste, Nuclear Power, Rail, and Water Utilities. The shift is from 8 AM to 5 PM, with optional overtime hours Monday to Friday. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract position based out of Henrico, Virginia. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $27.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
