The UVA School of Continuing and Professional Studies is seeking an IT Support Technician to join our team in Charlottesville, VA. This in-person role is vital in supporting staff, faculty, and students with technical issues, training on new technologies, and maintaining our technological infrastructure. This position will report to the IT Manager at SCPS.
Key ResponsibilitiesProvide front line helpdesk support for staff, faculty, and students.Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to hardware, software, and network systems.Offer training to staff and faculty on various technologies and IT systems.Support Zoom rooms, classrooms, and meeting rooms to ensure smooth operation.Participate in building and maintaining IT systems.Research and recommend new technologies to improve our IT capabilities.Collaborate with central IT and external vendors to resolve issues.Other duties as assigned.RequirementsProven expertise in troubleshooting technical issues.Experience with helpdesk or ticketing platforms.Familiarity with JAMF Pro or other IT management software is a plus.Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with various stakeholders.Ability to occasionally travel and lift up to 50 lbs.LocationThis position will be based in Charlottesville, VA, at Old Ivy Hall. The role requires in-person attendance to effectively support our community.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, Computer Engineering or related discipline
Experience: At least three years of experience. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
