IT Support Technician
Description The IT Support Technician provides technical assistance and support to end-users for computer hardware, software, and network-related issues. This role involves troubleshooting problems, installing and configuring equipment, and ensuring the smooth operation of IT systems. The ideal candidate is a highly motivated and customer-focused individual with strong technical skills and a passion for providing excellent service. Responsibilities: + Provide first-level technical support to end-users via phone, email, and in-person interactions. + Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network problems, including desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and applications. + Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, software, and peripherals. + Troubleshoot network connectivity issues, including LAN, WAN, and Wi-Fi. + Manage user accounts and permissions within Active Directory or other directory services. + Document support requests and resolutions in a ticketing system. + Escalate complex issues to higher-level support teams as needed. + Maintain and update technical documentation and knowledge base articles. + Assist with the setup and maintenance of audio-visual equipment for meetings and presentations. + Stay up-to-date with the latest IT trends and technologies. + Adhere to company IT policies and procedures. + Provide end-user training on software and hardware applications. Requirements Qualifications: + High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in IT or a related field preferred. + Proven experience in providing IT support or customer service. + Strong knowledge of computer hardware, software, and networking concepts. + Familiarity with operating systems such as Windows and macOS. + Experience with troubleshooting and resolving technical issues. + Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. + Ability to work independently and as part of a team. + Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. + Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks. + Experience with ticketing systems and remote support tools preferred. + Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft MTA) are a plus. Preferred Skills: + Experience with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python). + Knowledge of cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure). + Familiarity with mobile device management (MDM) solutions. + Experience with network security best practices.
