**39415BR** **Extended Job Title:** IT Support Technician I **Org Level 1:** Texas Tech Unv Hlth Sci Ctr El Paso **Position Description:** The IT Support Technician I’s scope includes providing technical support and assistance to departments, faculty, staff, and students with the use of basic hardware and some software support and maintenance. **Requisition ID:** 39415BR **Travel Required:** Up to 25% **Major/Essential Functions:** + Answer helpdesk calls. Serve as the first point of contact for customers seeking technical assistant over the phone, in-person or ticketing system to main campus and satellite buildings. Provide technical support to end-users on operational or maintenance aspects of system equipment and serves as customer contact on technical and service related problems. Effectively meet service targets/metrics in accordance with Service Level Agreements established by Assistant Vice President of Technology Services. + Troubleshoot simple to complex issues and assist end-users with various system problems, including operating system, desktops, laptops, printers peripherals, and software applications. Basic knowledge and experience in Windows and MAC O/S processes and services. Ability to update device bios or drivers. + Serve as liaison between helpdesk/pc support and other IT related areas when troubleshooting systems. Technicians is to have familiarity with network infrastructure, IP, WAN, LAN, wireless networks and internet connectivity. Basic knowledge of remote access and VPN. + Assist with installation or relocation of computer equipment, such as PC's, thin client's, printers, and other associated hardware at user locations. Provide first level problem analysis to support clinical, academic, and enterprise business environments. Resolve or escalate service requests when necessary. Performs technical downloads and PC configuration with general guidance. Must maintain documentation in a centralized location assigned by Assistant Vice President of Technology Services. + Must be flexible in adjusting schedule and work load during periods of increased call volume, projects, and unforeseen events. Must notify administration of illness, vacation or education within sufficient time frame standards identified by Assistant Vice President of Technology Services. + Adhere to All TTUHSC policies, procedures and processes. + Personally demonstrate, display, and act in accordance with TTUHSCEP's values (Service, Respect, Accountability, Integrity, Advancement, and Teamwork.).
