IT Systems AdministratorKBR's Defense Systems Engineering (DSE) business unit is seeking an IT Systems Administrator to join our Cyber Security Solutions (CSS) Operating Unit. CSS delivers defensive cyber services and solutions to the DoD, Federal Agencies, and Intelligence Community. The Division has the expertise and experience in leading edge cyber technologies and develops its own solutions to prevent unauthorized access to Information and Operational Technology networks and devices.
Job Summary: The IT Systems Administrator will support the 33rd COS (Cyber Operation Squadron) Defensive Cyber Operations Team onsite at Lackland Air Force Base. This position will be an active part of this unit and will be responsible for monitoring, securing, and protecting the Air Force and Central Command global networks by providing advanced function administration to all management systems and operational networks.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Troubleshoot, maintain, and manage all Commercial Research Network (CRN) Services technologies and devicesEnsure support includes administration of the central management systems, operational networks and AOL (Alternate Operating Location) pre-deployment network configurationsRespond to CRITICAL network outages within 60 minutes or a PRIORITY network outage within three hours of contractor notificationEnsure IDCS Services support the implementation of technical solutions, discovery of system inefficiencies and performance of advanced administration on virtualization serversPerform installation of hardware and software consisting of VMware, SAN and computer componentsRecommend fixes and enhanced system configuration information to leadership and upon approval, perform proposed fixesPerform administrative maintenance, configuration and troubleshooting actions on a variety of commercial software suitesProvide all recommended fixes to include enhanced network server and virtual configuration to the COR or Government shift leadPerform upgrades and daily maintenance of hardware and software consisting of UNIX®, Microsoft® and VMware® operating systems, physical workstations, computer, printers, KVM switches, gigabit Ethernet, and other network and computer componentsEnsure the physical servers, workstations, and virtual infrastructure are secureEnsure the latest software patches are installed and properly configured established standards to minimize the potential of unauthorized intrusionsDocument hardware/software logs, operating procedures, and all maintenance actions performedDevelop and maintain work center specific training programs, and train government employees in the work centerNotify COR and Government shift lead of a system Hazardous Condition (HAZCON) situation or unscheduled outage within 15 minutes of discovery, and updated approved proceduresEnsure all outages, scheduled or unscheduled, are tracked in accordance with approved procedures within 15 minutes of occurrenceEnsure continuous updates to outages are conducted in accordance with approved procedures and policiesUtilize approved trouble ticketing systems to document all DCO (Defensive Cyber Operations) Tools maintenance actions, user account actions and other user/system supportMaintain accurate trouble tickets with no more than three instances per quarter in which trouble tickets documenting who, what, when, and fix actions are not opened within 24 hours of initiation and closed within 24 hours of completionTravel to perform maintenance and installation, as requiredOther duties as related to the business functions of FWG Solutions, as assignedREQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
High School Degree RequiredPreferred Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or EngineeringLicenses & Certifications:
Active TS/SCI Security ClearanceRequired to have one of the following IAT Level II certifications: CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, CND, or SSCP – or an IAT Level III certification: CASP+ CE, CISA, CISSP (or Associate), GCED, GCIH, or CCNP SecurityRequired to have one of the following IAT CSSP certifications for Infrastructure Support: Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), CySA+, GICSP, SSCP, CHFI, CFR, Cloud+, or CNDPossession of one of the following certifications: Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP), VMWare VCP, Red Hat Certified Administrator.Experience:
Required minimum of three to five (3-5) of relevant experience; DoD experience preferredRequired minimum of four (4) years’ experience with core services, network operating systems and technologiesSkills & Abilities:
Understanding of all mission databases, mission networks, platforms, and software tools supporting the internal and external connectivity for mission execution, systems’ configuration control constraints, and document new system administration maintenance processesKnowledge of implementation, maintenance and troubleshooting of network systemsEngineering knowledge of UNIX®, Microsoft® and VMware® operating systemsHigh level problem-solving and communication skillsExcellent written and verbal communication abilitiesAbility to hold yourself and others accountable on short-term and long-term goalsSuperior organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasksUnderstanding of Intel-based computers using Microsoft based operating systemsAbility to work with various levels of personnel including senior leadershipUse of Microsoft Office software applications to include Word, Excel, and PowerPointOther:
