The IT Systems Analyst III serves as a critical link between IT, business functions, service providers, and vendor partners. This position requires deep expertise in IT systems, particularly ERP applications such as BPCS, JDE, and associated bolt-on tools, including Varsity, FedEx, Precision, EDI, World Writer, and ASC Sequel.
The role involves monitoring and maintaining daily ERP operations, ensuring the successful processing of transactions. It also entails collaborating with business partners to gather requirements, prioritize initiatives, and design solutions that integrate in-house and third-party systems. Additionally, the IT Systems Analyst III recommends, supports, and implements solutions to enable critical business functions, working closely with vendors, functional leaders, and other IT teams to drive effective results.
Essential Functions
ERP Daily Support: Monitor and maintain ERP applications through Track IT tickets and ASRs to ensure successful processing of daily transactions.
Business Alignment: Develop and implement IT solutions that align with Supply Chain Operations, Finance, and Distribution. Identify opportunities to enhance system capabilities for improved business outcomes, operational efficiency, and data accuracy.
Functional Expertise: Expand and leverage ERP and business knowledge to assist users in solution configuration and design. Gather functional requirements, conduct business process mapping, design and configure solutions, guide system and integration testing, and manage implemented solutions.
Technical Proficiency: Stay current on market trends for ERP, middleware, and other relevant technologies. Build expertise in technical capabilities and design frameworks that align with business needs.
Project Management: Lead small to medium-sized projects, coordinating the planning, design, development, implementation, or upgrade of business solutions. Manage resources, including hardware, software, databases, and both internal and external teams.
Compliance: Apply IT change control practices to manage solution changes, ensuring system integrity and regulatory compliance according to the System Development and Implementation Methodology.
System Maintenance: Assess new releases and support packs for relevance to the organization's operating model. Manage incident tickets for enhancements, projects, and ongoing support. Monitor and resolve issues related to security patches, performance, availability, throughput, and job outcomes.
Strategy and Roadmap Development: Collaborate with business stakeholders, vendors, industry consultants, and senior management to define information needs, develop business cases, sustain service levels, and proactively manage business demands. Provide recommendations on options, risks, costs, and benefits for end-user experiences, business processes, and system priorities.
Team Participation: Attend staff meetings, company meetings, and training sessions as required.
Industry Awareness: Develop a foundational understanding of industry use cases for supported technologies.
Business Acumen: Build knowledge of business processes and dependencies specific to Specialty Generics.
Relationship Building: Foster collaboration and teamwork by building strong relationships within IT and with business stakeholders to achieve organizational objectives.
Career Development: Engage in a career development planning process to define goals and integrate growth activities into personal objectives.
Minimum Requirements
Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related business field.
5+ years of experience in Information Systems within and beyond IT, including 3+ years of managing BPCS and JDE ERP solutions utilizing structured software change control methodologies and practices.
Proficiency in IBM iSeries, as well as RPG and CL programming for iSeries.
Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
Master's degree in IT or related business field (business management, information systems, etc.).
10+ years of experience in Information Systems, including 5+ years of managing BPCS & JDE ERP solutions utilizing structured software change control methodologies and practices
Skills/Qualifications:
Business Acumen and Engagement - Extensive working experience in the functional area supported; regularly collaborates with stakeholders to improve the use of supported technologies within the business; understanding of domain terminologies and regulations governing ERP and Bolt-ons.
Building Relationships - Ability to build both formal and informal professional networks; solicits advice, support, sponsorship and commitment that result in smooth transitions of change and the development of mutually acceptable solutions.
Project Management - Can manage assigned projects effectively with proven success delivering business values meeting timeline and budget objectives.
Communication Skills - Solid communication skills, both written and oral, with very strong customer service orientation and win-win negotiation skills.
Quality – Make good decisions & design solid solutions based upon a mixture of analysis, wisdom, experience & judgment; can accurately estimate time, resources & costs for projects under management.
Requirements Development & Management – Ability to lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams to size up business requirements from inception to production deployment, including business case development, solution assessment, design architect and configurations execution.
Organizational Relationship/Scope:
This is an individual contributor position reporting to IS Senior Director within the Specialty Generics IT organization. This position interacts with the Mallinckrodt Corporate Infrastructure and Security Management teams as well as multiple external vendors, services providers and trading partners.
Working Conditions:
Position is located in Webster Groves, MO. Normal office environment. Currently the Company has a hybrid working model however is subject to change based upon business needs.
