Position Overview

The IT Systems Engineer II is responsible for the installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems’ hardware, software, and network-related infrastructure. This individual is a strong problem solver and troubleshooter who resolves incidents quickly and strengthens infrastructure availability. This role collaborates closely with the rest of the IT team and other tech departments to drive Adaptive’s technical strategy at the tactical level. Will also have a positive attitude, team mindset, a strong sense of urgency, excellent communication skills and demonstrate an unwavering commitment to customer satisfaction with the ability to prioritize and adapt quickly in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities and Essential Functions

Operations and Support

Manage and maintain Adaptive IT systems Administer monitoring systems, maintaining system integrity and availability Perform regular security and job monitoring Harden IT systems per Infosec compliance Provide support for reactive issues as needed Respond to system outages and incidents as appropriate Maintain automation scripts for routine tasks Troubleshoot a diverse range of office and lab computing devices and monitoring systems. Coordinate with other technology groups to maintain critical system availability Training the help desk team on new systems, protocols, and best practices.

Regulatory responsibilities per Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Regulatory responsibilities per Good Clinical Practices (GCP) Regulatory responsibilities per Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) Ensure the security and protection of company systems and data by maintaining compliance with Adaptive security and information handling policies.

Position Requirements (Education, Experience, Other)

Required

Associate degree in a technical field, such as engineering or computer science, or equivalent industry experience. 5+ years of relevant IT experience

Technical abilities to include:

Experience managing complex hybrid on-prem/cloud infrastructure Experience with the Microsoft server technology stack M365 administration and troubleshooting Administration of *NIX server platforms Proficient with advanced virtualization platforms, particularly VMWare and Azure Support and administration including remote administration, end user support including executive support Excellent knowledge, navigation, administration, and troubleshooting of Microsoft Suite of products including SharePoint, OneDrive, Excel, PowerPoint, etc. Strong communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences are important Knowledge of industry-standard information, security practices, including logging/monitoring, encryption, and auditing Attention to detail and the ability to multi-task to respond to diverse site issues along with core IT subject matter issues Must be flexible with tasks and schedules, and be able to successfully work in a team environment Ability to respond to occasional after-hours support issues as needed Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities

Preferred Certifications & Experience:

Scripting skills with knowledge of programming languages, such as Perl, Ruby, and Python. Experience with monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, SumoLogic, etc. Experience with virtualized compute and storage i.e. VMware, NetApp, Azure Files Knowledge of network management and architecture, M365/Azure platforms as well as IaaS/PaaS implementations and management Cloud experience, especially Azure Coding experience to empower automation and IAC Managing continuous improvement Applicable Microsoft certifications commensurate with experience level Experience with compliance and regulatory audits such as SOX and HIPPA Experience in the Biotech or other life sciences or medical industry is preferred

Working Conditions

Remote position, must have a home office Must be occasionally willing to travel on-site Must be flexible with tasks and schedules, and the ability to work in a team environment Ability to respond to occasional after-hours support issues as needed

Physical Requirements

Able to lift 15+ pounds Sufficient dexterity to assemble/repair computer hardware, peripherals, and associated furniture.

Compensation

Salary Range: $100,600 - $150,800

Other compensation elements include:

Adaptive’s posted compensation information includes a base salary (or hourly rate) range and summary of other available total compensation. The base salary range represents a minimum-to-maximum salary (or hourly rate) available to candidates upon extension of offer. Base salary is thoughtfully considered upon offer and is determined through multiple evaluation checks throughout the interview process, including: a candidate’s ability to meet minimum qualifications (skills/experience/education), a candidate’s ability to thoughtfully address preferred qualifications, current market conditions, and internal pay equity. Listed base salary is exclusive of bonus, commission, equity, differential pay, benefits, and other incentives.
