Position Purpose Summary:
The purpose of this position is to provide implementation, configuration, support and troubleshooting of all hardware, operating systems, applications and policies related to servers. This position is part of the Information Technology Systems department, Data Center Support group. This person will be primarily responsible for maintaining our Linux based footprint, along with assisting the group with Windows, VMware, and Storage infrastructure.
Dimensions:
+ This position configures, deploys, patches, and upgrades Linux operating systems and applications.
+ This position assists configuring and maintaining our server monitoring application.
+ This position assists with Windows Server deployments, configurations, troubleshooting as needed.
+ This position creates, assists, and supports our VMware environment.
+ Additionally, this position will travel and manage assigned projects as needed by the IT department.
Principal Accountabilities:
+ As a member of the ITS Department, ITS Server Administrator is responsible for knowing and following policies and procedures of the company; for sharing information that would benefit other members of the team; and for finding ways to improve the delivery of service to our customers.
+ As a member of the ITS Department and the PCA Team as a whole, ITS - Server Administrator is expected to continually strive to strengthen our business philosophy of Meeting needs, exceeding expectationsfor our customers. This includes supporting ourCommitment to Servicewhich involves doing what is right for our customers, focusing on strategies that add value and support growth, and keeping the promises that we make.
+ ITS - Server Administrator is responsible for deploying and troubleshooting server related issues, remote control, inventory queries and reports. ITS - Server Administrator is responsible for providing in person and remote support of other team members, support engineers and end users. ITS - Server Administrator is responsible for server hardware and operating system security, access and controls via PowerShell, Active Directory, Remote Desktop Connectivity and Group Policy Objects.
Requirements:
+ Bachelor of Science, Information Technology Systems.
+ A minimum of 8-10 years previous work experience in related ITS area.
+ LAN/WAN understanding of servers and storage environments.
+ Experience with ITS administration covering various platforms/applications.
+ Platforms must include Windows Operating Systems, Linux and VMware.
+ Experience investigating and resolving server and storage issues.
+ Must be proficient in Linux- I nstallation, Troubleshooting, scripting, key management, DNS.
+ Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and Documentation
+ Must be proficient with current Windows Operating Systems and preferably: Installation, Troubleshooting, Active Directory, PowerShell, DNS, Remote Desktop and Remote Apps, Certificates.
+ Must be proficient with current VMware and have an understanding of virtualization: Installation, Troubleshooting, Active Directory, PowerShell, DNS, Remote Desktop and Remote Apps, Certificates.
+ Must be proficient with storage and storage architectures: HBAs, Fiber Channel, iSCSI, LUNs.
+ Must have strong organizational skills to handle numerous details, deadlines, and requests.
+ Must have the ability to adapt to and work effectively and independently in a fast paced, multitasking environment.
+ Must be able to evaluate and prioritize tasks for efficiency and completeness.
+ Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with individuals throughout the company on departmental procedures, policies, and requests for information.
+ Able to work overtime as needed.
+ Must be able to interact effectively and professionally with all levels of plant and corporate personnel and with customers and vendors.
+ Appropriate requirements for maintaining a data center.
