IT Systems Engineer - IT Network Services

Founded in 1906, McLeod Health is a locally owned and managed, not for profit organization supported by the strength of more than 900 members on its medical staff and more than 2,900 licensed nurses. McLeod Health is also composed of approximately 15,000 team members and more than 90 physician practices throughout its 18-county service area. With seven hospitals, McLeod Health operates three Health and Fitness Centers, a Sports Medicine and Outpatient Rehabilitation Center, Hospice and Home Health Services. The system currently has 988 licensed beds, including Hospice and Behavioral Health. The hospitals within McLeod Health include: McLeod Regional Medical Center, McLeod Health Dillon, McLeod Health Loris, McLeod Health Seacoast, McLeod Health Cheraw, McLeod Health Clarendon and McLeod Behavioral Health.  

                                                            Essential Job Responsibilities/Expectations

 

1. Job responsibilities include those listed in competencies document

2. Maintains a professional image and exhibits excellent customer relations to patients, visitors, physicians, and co-

workers in accordance with our Service Excellence Standards and Core Values.

3. Provide end user training

4. Maintain existing software distribution system

5. Install and test any software updates, including Service Packs

6. Maintain inventory of software and licensing

7. Meet with end users to achieve goals relating to new/existing software

8. Network and Server administration. Plan for growth in the areas of user base and hardware needs. Monitor and

benchmark performance and utilization of all Servers. Support server-based technologies such as Windows, VMWare,

Unix/Linux, and Citrix

9. Recommend changes to improve user availability and performance.

10. Database Administration. Trend growth and performance of all databases. Correct database integrity issues. Monitor

and log DB server performance. Implement and test Point-In-Time recoverability. Be proficient with SQL utilities such

at Profiler and Trace utilities.

11. Maintain and expand upon Citrix environment.

12. Disaster Recovery. Develop backup and recovery procedures. Develop, test and document disaster recovery plans.

13. Ensure all changes are made in accordance with McLeod change control, security, and risk assessment policies.

14. Follow all Security Policies and Procedures.

15. Follow Server Standard Build processes to ensure system consistency and security standards are meet.

 

                                                                                             Job Requirements

 

Qualifications/Training:

1. Three plus years of experience working in a complex virtual server environment supporting more than five hundred

servers running SQL server, Citrix, and Web Servers required.

2. Experience with modern backup and recovery processes required.

3. Experience with Storage Area Network equipment and configuration required.

4. Experience with Microsoft patching processes required.

5. Experience with Security processes to enhance server security required.

 

Licenses/Certifications/Registrations/Education

Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Information Management, Computer Science,

Business Administration, or relevant related field
