This is full-time onsite postion in Des Moines, IA. Position Summary:The IT Technical Support Specialist position provides essential technical assistance and support for computer systems, hardware, and software. This role is responsible for responding to user queries, running diagnostic programs, isolating problems, and implementing effective solutions. Essential Functions + Provide technical assistance for incoming queries and issues related to computer systems, software, and hardware. + Respond to queries in person or over the phone. + Develop and write training documentation and conduct training sessions for computer users. + Maintain the daily performance of computer systems. + Respond to email messages from customers seeking help. + Guide customers through the problem-solving process. + Install, modify, and repair computer hardware and software. + Perform virus and spyware updates on computers. + Run diagnostic programs to resolve issues. + Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems with Local Area Networks (LAN), Wide Area Networks (WAN), and other systems. + Install computer peripherals for users. + Follow up with customers to ensure issues have been resolved. + Gather feedback from customers about their computer usage experiences. + Generate reports to identify recurring malfunctions. Requirements + 3-5 years of IT Help Desk experience + CompTIA A+ Certification + Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Access, Excel, Outlook, and Word. + Experience and understanding of LAN/WAN networks. + Strong quality focus and attention to detail. + Excellent organizational and project coordination skills. + Solid technical experience and understanding. + Quick learner with effective problem-solving and decision-making abilities. + Highly organized and detail-oriented. + Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining high efficiency. + Capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously and adjusting to changing priorities. + Team player with excellent communication skills. + Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and on-call work. Preferred qualifications - One or more of the following certifications: + CompTIA Network+ + Microsoft 365 Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate + Apple Certified Support Professional (ACSP) + AppleCare Mac Technician (ACMT) + HDI Customer Service Representative (HDI-CSR) + ITIL Foundation + CompTIA Security + + Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) + Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals + CompTIA IT Operations Specialist (CIOS) Physical Demands:This position requires a variation of frequent sitting, standing, and walking throughout the day with occasional bending and squatting required to work on equipment. Occasional lifting 30 to 50 lbs. Continuous vision required for detailed work. Frequent hand/wrist/finger movement for computer work. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:This is a full-time position. Typical hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., but the schedule varies and requires flexibility to work as needed in the evenings and weekends. Typically, 40 hours per week.
