The Role

BuzzFeed is hiring a full-time, IT Technician. We're looking for an experienced IT professional to join the IT Support team in our New York City office, five days a week, Monday-Friday with availability to support weekends as needed. As part of the global IT Support team, you will report to the lead of the region.

We're looking for an upbeat and engaged person to join our current IT team. At its core, IT is a support department which enables and empowers employees to do their jobs. We believe in people over process. You'll need to provide great customer service — you've got to love the people you help and love what you do.

You will manage incoming helpdesk tickets and provide support for all BuzzFeed employees. You are able to complete tasks end-to-end, from troubleshooting assessment to problem resolution.

You Will

Be the first line of defense and the face of BuzzFeed IT’s Helpdesk. Build relationships with members across our IT department. Proactively respond to, record, track, and solve tickets as they come in. Details are important! Offer input to actively improve team procedures and assist with enforcement of established best practices. Troubleshoot computer hardware, software, and network issues that employees are having. Troubleshoot A/V setups for video conferencing, including Cisco Codecs and hosted solutions like Google Meet.Maintain, track, and manage BuzzFeed assets and endpoints throughout their lifecycle. Continuously improve and upgrade your own skills by maintaining a learning and development program.

You Have

Some familiarity with Agile project management methodologies. Experience with supporting a large fleet of employee devices. Experience with supporting remote employees and small office setups. Basic knowledge of IDaaS platforms, including third-party IdPs. Experience with administering cloud-based SaaS services. Experience with the lifecycle management of employees and their devices. Worked in an environment where you have been customer-focused and professional in order to provide a great employee experience. The ability to solve issues autonomously by referring to team documentation and historical knowledge base sources.  Proficiency in both following and creating thorough yet succinct technical documentation. Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to use the tools at hand to resolve problems. Troubleshooting skills with macOS, iOS, iPadOS, Windows, and general software issues beyond superficial problem-solving (but we do love turning it off and on again.) The ability to move fast and break things but also understand that accuracy rules the day when supporting our employees. Experience with basic networking concepts. Experience with management of Google Workspace using the Google admin console. Outstanding organizational and time-management skills.
