Job Summary: Provides direct support to the property’s end user at The Oasis at Death Valley community. Works directly with the Regional Director of IT and/or Assistant Director of IT on more sophisticated issues and projects; assists employees with areas that are more complex. IT Technician II is also responsible for computer operations tasks that need to be completed in the data center when assigned these responsibilities. The Details: Position Type: Full-time Year-round Only Start Dates: December 2024 Pay: $24.15 Schedule: Typical schedule is 40 hours, 5 days/per week (may include weekends, evenings, and holidays) Why the Oasis at Death Valley? Responsibilities Responsible for oversight of computers and related peripheral equipment in the computer room and throughout the entire property including POS Hardware. Oversees maintenance of records and logs associated with computer processes. Coordinates training of new IT technicians where required. Helps to ensure integrity of programs, files, and databases by overseeing other IT technicians in the use of utility programs, comprehensive backup procedures, documentation, and logging maintenance. Can be assigned to act as the Technical Advisor on Duty in the absence of the Regional Director of IT and the Assistant Director of IT. Participates in the on-call duty rotation for afterhours support. Assists other IT technicians with decisions on proper “corrective-action” procedures during problem situations. Works with software and hardware support personnel towards the resolution of problems. Install and maintain personal computers and software as requested. Works in conjunction with the Regional Director of IT and the Assistant Director of IT to maintain and troubleshoot network systems. Assists the Regional Director of IT and Assistant Director of IT in the day-to-day operation of the computer facility. Develop and modify reports using a variety of report writer programs used throughout the property if deemed necessary by senior management. Assists with coverage of the helpdesk (if one exists at their property) when needed by the department. Position may be required to serve in an on-call capacity for after-hours/non-business hours support if it is determined this is needed by the Chief Information Officer or Regional/Property Controller or Regional Director of IT. May need to assist in hardware maintenance on other application servers, arrays, SAN, and other equipment. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Must possess 1+ years of related IT experience, with demonstrated project management skills. Bachelor’s degree in information technology or business administration with a concentration in Information Technology, Hospitality Administration and/or Accounting or equivalent work experience. Background in IT systems and/or Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) certification. Prior experience with Payment Card Industry compliance requirements is optional but preferred. Able to provide quick and productive solutions to a multitude of challenges and/or limited resources. Possess good interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with others in a team environment. Ability to demonstrate sense urgency around deadlines, guest experience and The Oasis at Death Valley branding. High level of professionalism, able to follow instructions with follow-up, respect, and integrity. Excellent oral and written communications, follow detailed directions, and provide clear instructions/directions. Basic skills such as: attention to detail skills, reasoning skills and multi-tasking and prioritization skills. Must have a working knowledge of various platforms including Windows, Active Directory and Microsoft Terminal Services. Must have experience specifying, maintaining, and troubleshooting Ethernet, Coax, POTS, and Fiber Optic infrastructures. Must have a valid driver's license. Physical Requirements include: The employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to fingers, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl through; talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee is occasionally required to sit. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
