Detailed Job Description:

Client is looking for a well - qualified Splunk Engineer. The qualified candidate will be helping to transform the monitoring landscape for all of Clients organization, by enabling techniques and practices that align closely with todays splunk infrastructure best practices. The candidate will have a strong familiarity with measuring and monitoring infrastructures and applications across all layers of the OSI. The candidate will have a strong familiarity with supporting large splunk infrastructure deployments at scale.

Core Competencies:

Support automation of splunk based IT and business processes. 24/7 Splunk infrastructure support. Splunk upgrades and patching. Splunk add on and integration support. Familiarity with Cribl is a plus. Splunk ITSI, and ES. Splunk cloud and on-premise infrastructures. Coordination and ownership of all other changes to the splunk environment, e.g. OS patching. Splunk developer who can work in partnership across the enterprise developing custom and standard monitoring, visualization, and reporting solutions. Familiarity with process automation using Ansible or Terraform. Understanding of Git/Bitbucket and source code management. Scripting/programming skills to facilitate innovation. Understands Enterprise operating systems and technologies and can develop observability standards for them, e.g. RedHat Enterprise OS, Solaris, Windows Server, Oracle and MS SQL DB, VMWare, etc. AWS services; knowledgeable in managing infrastructure, instrumenting observability, log aggregation and monitoring technology in cloud infrastructures. Familiarity with OpenShift and monitoring OpenShift environments. Capable of documenting monitoring, observability, and automation standards in confluence and maintaining this documentation. Strong collaboration skills and able to partner with multiple teams and coordinate meetings, follow through on tasks, and maintain status on workflow items. Devise and develop splunk solutions to meet or exceed business requirements Adherence to ITIL. Implement continual service improvements.

Preferred Qualifications:

Splunk certification or equivalent administration experience. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. AWS based infrastructure support. Shell/Perl/Python Scripting. Applied experience with Linux/Unix and Windows platforms. Experience working with multiple teams and stakeholders. Bachelor’s degree.
