IT Testing Analyst
**Job Description** **Position Title:** IT Testing Analyst **OPEN UNTIL FILLED** **Department/Location:** Information Technology **/** Bismarck, ND **Company:** Basin Electric Power Cooperative **Position Purpose:** Under IT OCM Manager mentorship will lead and coordinate all aspects of the testing process within our IT organization. Responsible to design, execute, and document tests that systematically validate our software solutions to ensure they meet business requirements and user needs, while working closely with project stakeholders, development teams, and other departments to ensure that testing activities are aligned with project goals and quality standards. **This position is identified as a Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) related position which may allow physical and/or logical access to Bulk Electric System (BES) cyber related assets or systems.** **Essential Functions:** + Develop and implement test strategies, plans, scenarios, scripts, procedures based on project requirements and specifications, and schedules for multiple projects or initiatives. + Define testing scope, objectives, and deliverables based on project requirements and priorities. + Collaborate closely with project managers, developers, and business stakeholders to understand system requirements and translate them into test cases. + Utilize testing tools and techniques to automate tests where applicable, improving efficiency and reliability of testing processes. + Analyze test results, identify issues, and work with development teams to troubleshoot problems and implement solutions. + Document and maintain test artifacts, including test plans (for unit testing, string testing, integration testing, regression testing etc.) test cases, test data, and test results. + Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the testing team, proposing and implementing enhancements to testing methodologies and processes. + Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices, emerging technologies, and advancements in testing practices to drive continuous improvement. + Develop and implement test strategies, plans, scenarios, scripts, and procedures based on project requirements and specifications. + Participate in design reviews and provide feedback on requirements, design, and potential risks. **Qualifications** **:** + Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field; and 5 years of progressive experience in IT including experience in software testing methodologies, tools, or techniques; or + Associates degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field; and 7 years of progressive experience in IT including experience in software testing methodologies, tools, or techniques. + Good analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail. + Able to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic team environment. + Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to articulate issues and solutions to various stakeholders. + Knowledge of performance testing, security testing, or other specialized testing domains, preferred. + Understanding of QA principles and practices, with knowledge of test planning and execution, preferred. + Knowledge of software systems and familiarity with test automation tools. + Resume required. + The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed in this job. This position requires finger dexterity, good hearing and color vision, the ability to perform close work, and the ability to speak. Must be able to under supervision analyze data and reports; conduct research; implement recommendations; direct others; develop plans, procedures and goals; present information to others; and work under stress to complete projects. This position occasionally works in conditions of dirt and dust, fumes, chemicals, extreme heat and cold, vibration, and noise.
