The Technology Infrastructure Engineering and Operations Team engineers and supports all the foundational technology used across M&T Bank.  We support two Data Centers, 15,000 Distributed platforms, 24 Mainframe Regions, a secure and reliable Network connecting all the technology across the bank footprint and process approximately 635,000 automated jobs per month.  In addition to that foundational technology level, we own the operational support processes, monitoring and command center that provide a unified, well-managed technology response when issues arise.    We deliver innovative, and compelling technology solutions, in partnership with our line of business CIOs, to enhance the internal customer experience that enables our business partners to deliver.Overview:    The ITAM Program Manager is the senior IT leader responsible for the delivery, implementation, and maintenance of the IT Asset Management discipline at M&T Bank.  This leader oversees a team of resources responsible for day-to-day execution of various ITAM-related functions and works with departments and stakeholders across the enterprise to ensure consistent application and continual service improvement across the various asset lifecycle phases, from procurement to decommission.Primary Responsibilities:IT asset managers perform various functions in ensuring effective decision is made concerning their organizations’ software and technology-related hardware purchases and redistribution.Perform daily and long-term operational and strategic management of hardware and softwarePlan, monitor, and record hardware assets and/or software license to make sure they complied with vendor contracts in different software toolsApply a continuous improvement approach in enhancing the strategies employed in technology spending, as well as in tracking company assets within the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) throughout their lifecycleEnsure effective management of the CMDB and that the content contained is accurateProvide KPI/Metric information and standardized reporting on a scheduled basis together with unscheduled reporting demanded by managementTake part in various projectsDefine and enhance scheme for identifying hardware and software-related assets as well as CIs, including versioning and dependencies in the asset management tools, attributes, the Contract management library, and the CMDBManage inventory of CIs and assets, including dependencies and attributes), making sure that modifications, withdrawals, and additions of existing ones are correctly recorded by the teams in charge in the tools to ensure that the vendor contracts are complied withResponsible for overseeing process that manage the lifecycle of hardware and software modelsGenerate and distribute various reports, including compliance reports on current assets and CIs and their status; also perform trend analysesVerify software assets with license contracts, confirm hardware assets with actual inventory, and initiate corrective actions and tract themManage activities concerning license compliance audits to be able to answer to requests from software editors effectivelyDesign processes relating to software and hardware asset management, execute and enhance themEstablish and maintain documentation of procedures, processes, and reports concerning asset and configuration managementTake part in other ITSM processes, or as required perform as a back up to maintain operational activitiesCreate and execute governance and strategic asset management functionCollaborate with infrastructure teams to determine trends in asset performancePerform research on industry best practice and incorporate it with organizational practicesEstablish and maintain hardware and software maintenance database.Supervisory/Managerial Responsibilities:7-8 DirectsEducation and Experience Required:A combined minimum of 13 years’ higher education and/or work experience, including a minimum of 4 years’ technology or systems experience and 9 years' technology management / program leadership experience including people managementStrong knowledge of IT software and hardware as well as five or more years experience working as an IT asset managerFive years or more experience managing staffStrong knowledge and five years plus experience working with a CMDB and the specific business services that it supportsFive years or more ITSM tool experience, as well as ServiceNow experienceProven ability and experience in executing strategic asset management processes successfullyProfound knowledge of licensing agreements involving software, including Microsoft, IBM, and OracleStrong vendor management and negotiation skillsStrong knowledge of IT Service Management processes, as well as experience with Discovery toolPossess Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, or business administration, or in other related fieldStrong ability to carry out assigned tasks independently with little supervisionExcellent at performing multiple tasks at the same time without erringExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsEducation and Experience Preferred:Master’s degreeMinimum of 12 years’ technology management or large program leadership experienceITIL v4 Foundations CertificationITIL Service Design Intermediate CertificationPossess IAITAM Certification, such as CHAMP, CSAM, and CITAM.COBIT 5 CertificationWe support our team members with generous benefits.Competitive compensation Health, welfare, and retirement benefits 401(k) match at 5% Work-life balance and flexible work arrangements Banking Officers start with 25 days PTO plus 12 paid holidays  40 hours paid volunteer hours per year Much more. M&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees. The pay range for this position is $136,787.30 - $227,978.83 Annual (USD). The successful candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, and experience will inform their specific compensation.
