Who we are looking for
SSGA’s Global Funds Management (“GFM”) team drives sound fund oversight programs across SSGA’s funds and services. We are seeking a motivated Vice President within the APAC Funds Management team for the Japan Funds Business, who can excel in a fast-paced environment while working cohesively with other internal and external counterparts. Are you that person?
For this role, you will be part of a team that oversees oversight/governance for both listed and unlisted funds in Japan which would include offshore funds registered in Japan.
What you will be responsible for
Strong understanding of the Japanese regulatory requirements for both listed and unlisted funds;Responsible for the Japan Fund Governance Framework to ensure that the funds are operated in accordance with regulations and lawManage processes related to Funds which include fund launches, change management and terminations (Trust Deed, Filing to FSA, Printing firm etc);Develop Investment Trust Fund Term SheetsManage processes for Listed Funds including TSE Disclosures, Dividend Announcements, coordinating with legal and Printing firmsWork with various internal and external stakeholders on issue resolution related to listed and unlisted fundsOversight of vendors that provide services to the listed and unlisted fund.What we value

University degree and 10+ years of experience in the Asset Management Industry5+ years of leadership experience in managing individualsStrong leadership traits and ability to manage individualsWorking knowledge of Japanese Fund business including listed and unlisted funds a plusManage complex projects with stakeholders across multiple teams and geographiesAbility to problem solve and identify / analyse issues, find viable alternatives and recommend solutionsStrong command of spoken and written Japanese and EnglishAdditional requirements
