You will join a team of reporters across Tokyo and other bureaus to break news on corporate M&As and large investments involving brokerage firms across the board from the major players to smaller outfits. **We'll trust you to:** + Be passionate about breaking news + Be a self-driver with excellent news judgment and ability to develop sources across the industries as needed to ensure we are competitive on the biggest stories + Spot underlying themes and new trends in the industry + Collaborate with colleagues across teams, groups, regions, and platforms, including working hand-in-hand with English-language reporters and editors **You'll need to have:** + At least 5 years of experience working in business journalism including writing for publication in Japanese + A solid understanding of the corporate culture in Japan and basic knowledge of the finance industry + Passion for career growth and willingness to embrace change + Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders + A strong work ethic; and the ability to work in a high-pressure environment + Fluency in both written and spoken Japanese + Demonstrated continuous career growth within an organization **We'd also like to see:** + Working level English would be an advantage Life at Bloomberg is many things, but it’s never dull.
