Engagement Type: Contract
Location: Boston, MA
Duration: 6 Months
Responsibilities:
• Work closely with the data and application architects to ensure adherence to the data blueprint and roadmap
• Work closely with the system analysts and the project managers on multiple requirements
• Design the appropriate data access for real-time and batch applications
• Demonstrates expertise in a variety of the concepts, practices, and procedures in database design and implementation
Additionally, this will be a very hands-on role requiring expertise in analysis, development and problem resolution and the ability to work with an offshore team. The candidate will work under the direction of the Project and Technical Lead and be responsible for various tasks including development, unit and integration testing, acceptance test support and implementation.
Requirements:
• Experience with Java-based enterprise application development
• Demonstrated experience in Java application development with focus on middle/back end layer
• Experience writing application code and database SQL code
• Strong database skills
• Extensive experience with PL/SQL: writes code for database access, modifications, and constructions including stored procedures
• Ability to optimize database queries and performance
• Familiarity with multiple databases, i.e. Oracle, Sybase, MS SQL Server
• Strategic thinking skills
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills
