As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial & Investment Bank, Neovest Technology Direct, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.

Job Responsibilities:

Develops innovative software solutions, including design, development, and technical troubleshooting, with the ability to think beyond conventional approaches to solve technical problems. Creates secure, high-quality production code and reviews and debugs code written by others. Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate the remediation of recurring issues to enhance the operational stability of software applications and systems. Leads evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to assess architectural designs, technical credentials, and their applicability within existing systems and information architecture. Champions communities of practice across Software Engineering to promote awareness and adoption of new and cutting-edge technologies. Proactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data, using these insights to drive improvements in coding practices and system architecture. Contributes to a team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:

Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts with 5+ years of applied experience. Hands-on experience in system design, application development, testing, and ensuring operational stability. Advanced proficiency in Java programming. Practical experience with Spring Boot, Kubernetes, Kafka, and cloud-native solutions. Expertise in automation and continuous delivery methods. Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). Advanced understanding of agile methodologies, including CI/CD, application resiliency, and security. Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.). In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and its IT systems.

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:

Familiarity with modern front-end technologies. Experience with HTTP/2 streaming and REST technologies. Proficiency in additional programming languages.
