Java Software Engineer I

Responsibilities

To code and unit test assigned tasks.

Working with QA team, develop test cases for the completed tasks and execute those test cases in development environment to ensure most defects have been corrected.

To revise the design documents, along with test cases to ensure documents are up-to date before delivering the completed work to QA.

To assist Enterprise Integrations team in troubleshooting client issues and providing solutions.

To participate in design meetings with management and support team to develop solutions 

Daily Participation in Team Stand-Ups as well as Scrum Ceremonies (Planning Sessions, Retrospectives)

To research and discuss new technologies with the management team and find ways to implement them in the product, once approved by the management.

To assist in preparation of relaying scope, levels of effort and estimates.

To create and maintain technical documentation, work breakdowns and development estimates.

To gather information from both internal and external resources necessary to document and complete the assigned tasks.

To create and maintain design documents, task breakdowns and task estimates for assigned work.

To develop a rapport with all team members and help each other in achieving their goals and understand the system.

To continue professional development by keeping up with technological advances by utilizing various resources such as books, seminars, training classes etc.

To assist in other areas and other teams as needed.

To provide emergency support after-hours on as needed basis.
 

Skills

Excellent oral and written communication skills required to document solutions, clearly identify defects, and participate in team meetings and planning sessions.

A strong work ethic and a commitment and passion for excellence- Delivering tested solutions in support of our customers and colleagues.

Excellent problem solving skills used to rapidly and accurately identify, and remediate, root causes.

Works well in a collaborative, agile team environment.
 

Education And Experience

Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering or other related field

Demonstrated experience with Java

Programming c, C# or C++.
