We are currently searching for a JavaScript/TypeScript Software Engineer, to provide support to the National Institutes of Health (NIH). This opportunity is a full-time position with Guidehouse and can sit remotely.
What You Will Do:
Write front-end code as a primary job responsibility, considering security, testability, maintainability, scalability, performance, and documentation.
Deliver assigned tasks in a timely and efficient manner and take ownership of the task completion with good quality.
Work closely with scientific subject matter experts, UI/UX designers, and stakeholders to ensure visually appealing, functional, and intuitive software.
Other duties as required.
What You Will Need:
Bachelor's Degree and Minimum SIX (6) years of professional experience (relevant experience may be substituted for formal education or advanced degree)
Expertise with client-side technologies and frameworks; strong TypeScript, Vue, React, HTML5, and CSS3.
Experience in building applications that send data to and receive data from HTTP-based APIs.
Experience with version control and collaborative development practices, deploying code (including GitHub Action, pull requests, and code review) using Git and GitHub.
Experience working with docker images and containerized applications.
Experience with interaction design, usability, and information architecture
Strong interpersonal, presentation, written, and oral communication skills to convey computational biology principles and concepts to non-specialists in a clear and precise manner and advise on relevant software and tools with a dedication to customer satisfaction.
Ability to work independently or as part of a multi-disciplinary team
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, including the ability to learn new software quickly.
Demonstrated ability to concurrently work on multiple complex projects with effective time management skills, a high level of personal and professional drive and initiative, and attention to detail
What Would Be Nice To Have:
Masters Degree in Computer Science
Experience with relational databases and SQL.
Ability to communicate and work with a multi-disciplinary team of developers, analysts, and scientific subject matter experts.
Experience with working with Figma on mockups and prototypes.
Experience with developing on cloud platforms, especially AWS.
Experience with developing visualizations using the D3.JS Library.
The annual salary range for this position is $99,500.00-$149,300.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
