DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
A list of the principal functions of the job to include an action-oriented description of each activity along with the desired outcome against which some measurement of performance can be applied.

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair: processor equipment, mill equipment, all mobile equipment, harvest and road salt equipment, and fire protection systems.
• Complete all tasks in a safe manner per SOPs, company policies, and regulations. Champion safety and create a safe environment for employees and visitors.
• Apply a broad spectrum of trades including pneumatics, welding and cutting, metal fabrication, carpentry, plumbing and pipefitting, and machine work (lathe, mill, etc.).
• Support all programs in the plant such as the reliability, preventative maintenance, and housekeeping.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Required

4 years of maintenance service and/or schooling. Can be a combination of successful completion of technical school or associate’s degree and/or related experience. Basic math, reading, and writing skills Must have working knowledge of welding, cutting, and general mechanics Must be safety-oriented and exhibit safe work habits Punctual and reliable; good attendance required Good communication skills Team-player Self-motivated and eager to learn new skills

Preferred

Prefer certification to use elevated work platforms, forklifts, and cranes.

Preferred experience in heavy equipment

Must be able to operate various types of machinery.  Physical requirements include lifting 50 pounds, bending, stooping, and climbing stairs.  Must wear PPE including hard hat, gloves, hearing protection, safety shoes, protective eyewear, and long pants/ sleeved shirt.
