The Idaho Division of Human Resources (DHR) is seeking a Job Classification Manager. This announcement will be used to fill a classified position located at the DHR Central Office located in Boise, ID.
Summary:
To provide leadership for a major, statewide program in support of the Department’s mission, vision and values; manage and maintain the state’s job classification data, systems, development, analysis, and organization; to evaluate and implement job analysis mechanisms and materials using the principles and practices of public sector personnel administration; to advise on organizational design and workforce planning; develop policies and procedures related to classification; perform related work.
Responsibilities:
+ Develop the appropriate classification for new or revised positions and review the major duties and responsibilities assigned to the position and verify appropriate level of education, experience and assigned duties
+ Consults and recommends to Compensation Manager the proposed appropriate pay grade, salary ranges, FLSA overtime designation and EEO designation
+ Conducts individual classification desk audits by gathering information from involved parties, analyze collected data, prepare written reports to include recommendations
+ Determines methodology for collecting and analyzing classification data
+ Maintains the job classification database and ensures all updates, additions, and revisions are posted in HRIS systems
+ Utilizes Hay methodology for the development of classifications or classification recommendations
+ Researches job requirements, structural and functional relationships among jobs, occupations and occupational trends
+ Consults with managers, supervisors, and employees on a variety of organizational management and reorganization plans
+ Performs position reviews, surveys; oversees positions and classifications, works in a consultative capacity with departments to make recommendations
+ Interviews and surveys employees and managers to gather and document job, organizational, and occupational information including duties, responsibilities, and skills
+ Benchmark jobs against survey data and other market data
+ Conducts focus groups to collect employee feedback
