Job Title: Repair Specialist, Traveler

Position Summary

The Repair Specialist serves as an experienced lead for assigned mobile unit/region or may travel to support multiple mobile units and/or repair location teams (RS Travel). 
Role works with other mobile unit or location assigned technicians to assist in managing workflow and address the day-to-day Customer needs.                            Repairs surgical instrumentation, provides coaching and on the job training to techs, and ensures daily operations (Safety, Mobile unit operations and Customer requirements) are performed effectively.  This includes Customer administrative/contractual requirements including billing, quality assurance, reporting) and other duties as assigned to support the Manager Field Operations when needed.

This role anticipates and acts to reduce Customer and employee issues are resolved with positive outcomes. Intermediate to Advanced level repairs and maintenance of surgical instruments and on the job coaching to upskill and inspect others work.

 

Note about location: This position can be can be based out of many different parts of the United States. The guidelines that determine whether a candidate's home location will be feasible for this role are: whether a candidate lives near a major airport AND whether they are also within a reasonable drive of a STERIS repair lab (or a region with multiple On Location mobile repair trucks). 

Duties Partners with Manager, Field Operations to develop reporting for customer consultation, identifies and escalates risks and issues within accounts timely and effectively.     Repair Specialists will work closely with assigned team and National Asset Management team to ensure current and new account implementation is effective.      Full accountability for coordination of team schedule, travel plans and operational readiness to meet Customer operational requirements.   Assumes ownership for the mobile unit or assigned location's safe, healthy operations including, maintaining a safe, productive and respectful work environment at all times.  Delivers accurate timely administrative reporting and documentation and provides support to others in doing same.                    Strong planning and collaboration with assigned team, other Repair Specialists and Manager Field Operations to ensure Customer coverage.   Responsible for timely, team adherence to protocol for administrative tasks including scheduling, timekeeping, travel, documentation, reporting, communications and ensures training is in place for new hires/updates.  Demonstrates professional, effective verbal and written communication skills.                          Learns, adheres, and complies with all protocols (DOT, company, Customer) for the safe operation of the mobile lab, policies, and procedures.  Adheres to company, compliance policy and procedures. All other duties as assigned Duties - cont'd Education Degree High School Diploma or GEDRequired Experience Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience including a combination of repair, operations, Customer engagement and leading others.  Ability to perform and coach repair skills e.g. Ultra sonic function, Metallurgy, Buff & Polish, Bending, Shaping, Sharpening, Hinge Points, Serrations & Brazing, Advance Dremel Operation, Re-cup & Re-jaw. Ability to translate complex information into insights and Customer recommendations verbally and in writing.  Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.  Must be able to meet flexible schedules with early/late hours and occasional overnight/out of state travel, based on Customer and business needs. Must be able to pass a DOT medical/ physical exam and comply with all DOT regulations. Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record (CDL not required) and maintain required vaccines. Ability to drive DOT regulated vehicle and conduct basic box truck safety checks. Must be at least 21 years old to meet the FMCSA age requirement for commercial interstate driving. Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times and push instrument carts ranging from 10-150 pounds at times

 Pay range for this opportunity is $25.96 - $36.35. This position is eligible for [BONUS PARTICIPATION] OR a [INSERT COMMISSION RATE RANGE, IF APPLICABLE] commission.

 

Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than range listed.  Pay rates are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to local labor market costs, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, foreign language fluency, etc.

Full-Time employees are eligible for four weeks of paid parental leave. Part-time employees also receive paid parental leave, pro-rated based on their standard hourly work week.
