The Sr. Specialist, Contract Manufacturing is responsible for the delivery of allocated production volumes at Hill’s Pet Nutrition’s external manufacturing partners and co-packers. This role involves coordinating all activities around external manufacturers starting from capacity and contract negotiation, volumes allocation & periodic price adjustments, technical qualification, day to day operation and management of continuous improvement programs. The Sr. Specialist, Contract Manufacturing is also responsible for creating adequate channels of communication between external partners and Hill’s internal resources (R & D, Quality, Tech Transfer, Planning, Transportation, Procurement, Finance, Regulatory, Marketing, IT, etc.) in order to ensure smooth execution of the allocated production volumes, as well as managing relationships with external partners and providing clear communication of their performance to Hill’s internal partners.

 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

 

Capacity negotiations, contract updates & periodic price adjustments

Month end close activities in cooperation with Finance

Manage regular operations meetings with external partners

Support Customer Service & Logistics team with production scheduling process

Monitor the execution of allocated production volumes

Track Operational metrics and report them regularly

Responsible for achievement of cost targets and savings goals

Periodical review of obsolescence risk and working capital optimization

Lead or support cross-functional continuous improvement programs for external partners

Support delivery of Quality goals and production in accordance with Quality standards

Perform SAP transactions reflecting the performance of allocated portfolio

Accommodate external manufacturing capabilities to address new products development plans

Seek new creative ways of working to improve operational efficiency and business responsiveness

 

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in technical or business discipline

At least 3 years of experience in Supply Chain or Logistics

Advanced proficiency in MS Excel / Google sheets

SAP experience in the Supply Chain area or any other system knowledge


Compensation and Benefits
Salary Range $94,000 - $133,000 USD

Pay is determined based on experience, qualifications, and location. Salaried employees may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, profit-sharing, and long-term incentives for Executive-level roles.

Benefits: Salaried employees enjoy a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, basic life insurance, paid parental leave, disability coverage, and participation in the 401(k) retirement plan with company matching contributions subject to eligibility requirements. Additional benefits include a minimum of 15 vacation/PTO days (hourly employees receive a minimum of 120 hours) and 13 paid holidays (vacation days are prorated based on the employee's hire date within the calendar year). Paid sick leave is adjusted based on role and location in accordance with local laws. Detailed information regarding paid sick leave entitlements will be provided to employees upon hiring and may be subject to adjustments based on changes in legislation or company policies.
