Job Title: Warehouse Manager

The Role

The Warehouse Manager in the Applied Sterilization Technologies (AST) Spartanburg, SC location leads a team responsible for the coordination and execution of all Customer Shipping/Receiving and, in certain plants, Planning functions. The Warehouse Manager has responsibility for Safety, Quality, Employee Relations, and Costs in their respective departments of responsibility.

Shift:  7am to 5pm Mon – Fri Availability to work weekends as needed, required.   

Must have On Call availability to support warehouse team 24/7, as needed.  

What You Will Do Monitors and corrects problems to ensure the work environment is safe and complies with federal and state regulatory agencies. Ensures accuracy of product reconciliation documentation and supporting procedures (Incoming product quantities, accurate receipts and BOL, damage reporting). Ensures accuracy of return shipment quantities and Ship To: locations. Strives for continuous improvement by analyzing new or alternative ways to improve inbound and outbound shipments using lean tools, data-based decision-making, and evaluating and improving flow. Audits area standard work, making corrections as necessary and identifying processes for targeted continuous improvement events. Responsibilities can also extend to the Planning the processing schedule to ensure Customer turn time and processing requirements are met. Production schedule is expected to maximize uptime efficiency to ensure maximum processing volume. Ensures performance across a range of activities and metrics within their area: Customer Inbound/outbound shipments. product damage and Quality issues, and improvements of Safety, Quality Delivery and Cost.   Manage area expenses to ensure P&L targets are achieved. What You Will Also Do Monthly 1-on-1 meetings for performance (+ or -). Leads warehouse staff by creating a safe work environment, collaborates across job functions managing logistics issues. Compliance with DOT(CTPAT), FDA, OSHA, EPA regulations.  Audits adherence to standard work, revising as necessary.  Develops KPI for area of responsibility, provides coaching to direct reports to ensure understanding. Identify development opportunities related to inefficiencies for succession preparation.  Where applicable, optimizes the planning and scheduling of irradiators/vessels/accelerators. Routine Customer interaction directed towards arranging and coordinating product deliveries and shipments. Potential for the need to create split shipments and direct products to varying locations. This includes complying with CTPAT requirements and DOT regulations related to shipping of Hazardous Materials. In facilities where the Planning function reports into this position, a higher degree of Customer interaction will be involved related to the scheduling of products for processing. This extends to the evaluation of processing suitability for new products and dose ranges and the creation and updating of Customer.  Processing Specifications.  Provide support to Customer audits as needed. Participation on Customer visits and Business Reviews. What You Will Need to Be Successful Bachelor's Degree, required. Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience leading teams in a warehouse operations environment.  Experience with workforce planning/scheduling and balancing workload for shipping/receiving teams.  Knowledge of DOT and other logistics-related regulations. General understanding of 5s, lean or continuous improvement concepts in an operations environment.  Knowledge of MS Office applications and/or warehouse software applications.  Forklift experience or certification, preferred.
