Are you passionate about workplace policy, advocacy, and driving real change? Join SHRM’s Policy and Government Affairs team, where we lead efforts to shape the future of work through impactful policy development, government relations, and workforce advocacy.
We’re expanding and seeking policy professionals at all experience levels, from junior analysts to seasoned experts, to help us advance key initiatives that impact millions of workers and HR professionals worldwide.
**What We’re Looking For:**
We seek dynamic, mission-driven professionals with expertise in one or more of the following areas:
+ **Policy Analysis & Development:** Researching and crafting workplace policy proposals, with legal expertise preferred.
+ **Government Relations & Advocacy:** Engaging policymakers at Capitol Hill, state legislatures, or government agencies to influence workplace policy.
+ **Strategic Communications:** Translating complex workforce issues into compelling narratives for diverse audiences.
+ **Project Management:** Leading cross-functional initiatives and ensuring timely execution of key policy objectives.
+ **Coalition Building:** Collaborating with industry groups, associations, and advocacy organizations to drive impactful policy initiatives.
+ **Data Analysis:** Interpreting workforce trends, economic indicators, and SHRM research to inform policy priorities.
+ **Key Policy Areas:** Expertise or strong interest in healthcare, taxes, untapped talent pools, workforce development, regulatory affairs, and global workforce policy.

**Location Preference:** Candidates in the Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia (DMV) area are preferred for optimal engagement with policymakers and stakeholders.
