Job Description

Albemarle is hiring for a Joint Venture Director, this position is located in Perth, WA. The Joint Venture Director will provide lead support to the VP JV Management in relation to Australian Joint Venture operations and exploration. These include Albemarle’s 49% interest in the Greenbushes mine via the incorporated JV Talison Lithium and its 50% interest in the Wodgina Mine with Mineral Resources. The role includes establishing collaborative and influential relationships internally and externally to deliver win-win outcomes across Albemarle’s portfolio of JV interests. Given the pace of growth and importance of our JV interests, the Joint Venture Director will be required to operate with autonomy, skill, and agility across technical, leadership and functional disciplines.

This role is a member of the Australian Leadership Team and reports to the VP of JV Management/ Australian Managing Director.

What You Will Do

Promote and ensure adherence to Albemarle’s safety polices/procedures and core values.

Drive collaboration with operational, technical, project and functional staff to align, problem solve and deliver strategic

and operational objectives.

Direct and lead the Australian Joint Venture Management team members to ensure the joint ventures meet operational

and strategic objectives of the Company.

Be a strategic advisor to the Australian Managing Director on country wide management.

Regularly and proactively meet with relevant JV partner stakeholders, maintaining strong relationships and alignment.

Build credibility and influence with identified internal and external key stakeholders.

Creates, implements, and executes strategies, management plans and improvement initiatives to enable JV

performance and value creation from mine to conversion.

Oversees the development and tracking of joint venture key risks and mitigations.

Oversees JV activities to ensure they are contained within budget and cost control measures.

Facilitates sharing of best practices to ensure safe and sustainable operations.

Overseas local exploration team portfolio.

Enables and leads a world-class team culture.

What You Bring

Required:

15-20 years’ experience in mining or natural resource operations.

Proven experience in business development, contracting, joint ventures, or partnerships.

Experience with mine operations, studies, and development projects.

High regard for workplace safety and sustainability practices.

Exceptional negotiation and influencing skills.

Proven ability to build relationships both internal and external and with resource industry peers.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

Strong project management skills.

Ability to analyse financial data and make sound business decisions.

Strong problem-solving skills in a complex environment.

Strong leadership skills and proven experience in improving team performance.

Education / Qualification Requirements:

Bachelor of Engineering / Law / Business with experience in and around mining or natural resource operations

MBA qualification is highly regarded
