Journeyman Fabricator (All Shifts)

Janicki Industries is an innovative, family-owned aerospace company located at the foot of the Cascades. We focus on engineering and manufacturing complex projects for companies in the aerospace, defense, and space industries. We are looking for a Journeyman Fabricator to join our growing team.

This position is located on-site in Sedro-Woolley, Washington State.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

This role is required to have a proficient level competency in Metal Fabrication to exacting specifications and have demonstrated mechanical knowledge. Applicants with 6+ years of experience in various types of weld preparation, such as welding and fabrication of weldments, including cutting, grinding and finish welding operations should apply.  The Welder performs a variety of duties and utilizes multiple skillsets.  Welders are required to follow detailed instructions and drawings carefully, have basic mechanical knowledge, manual dexterity, good eyesight and the ability to perform repetitive tasks. Journeyman Fabricators are primarily responsible for various types of weld preparation, welding and fabrication of weldments, including cutting, grinding and finish welding operations.

The following essential job functions are performed as a Welder:

Attention to detail and quality is required. Reads and understands blueprints, isometric drawings and work orders. Receives and carries out directions from designated Supervisors and Production Leads. Must be able to understand and comply with JI Safety Practices. Identifies and obtains equipment, tools and materials needed to properly perform job function. Knowledge and use of common hand tools and metal fabrication equipment. Sets up scaffolding and safety barriers under direction. Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly, FOD free condition.  Properly executes Hazardous Material Disposal activities. Performs on the job training, AS9100, Nadcap training and other training as required. Expert Competency in Metal Fabrication to exacting specifications and drawings. Accurate use of precision measuring instruments and working to exacting tolerances.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required).  Janicki will assist with gaining this access once employed. Special Access Program or other Government Access Requirements are mandatory for this position and requires candidate agreed to enter a Continuous Evaluation program.

QUALIFICATIONS

Due to our ITAR and EAR regulations, applicants must be a US Citizen or of Legal Permanent Resident Status as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b (a) (3).

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Minimum requirement for all positions is a high school diploma or GED. College level or trade school education preferred. One or more years of experience in related field may be substituted for education.  Experience in aircraft frame assembly/maintenance and/or painting would be a plus. 10-15+ years of welding experience strongly desired.  Press brake experience a plus. Machining experience desired, especially specific to the use of HAAS machines. 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION 

Wage range for this role is between  $27 - $52 an hour plus a discretionary bonus, 401(k) matching, vacation, and health benefits. Employees can also receive additional pay for off-shifts, off-site work, and access pay. The range provided is Janicki’s estimate of the base compensation for this role. Actual amount offered will be based on job-related and non-discriminatory factors such as experience, location, education, training, skills, and abilities.
