Job Description:

Performs a variety of electrical trade functions such as the installation, maintenance, or repair of equipment for the generation, distribution, or utilization of electric energy.  Work normally involves installing, maintaining, or repairing a variety of electrical equipment, such as motors, generators, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, and cable runs; working from blueprints, drawings, layouts, or other specifications; locating and diagnosing trouble in the electrical system or equipment, using a variety of electrician’s hand tools, and measuring and testing instruments. Hire will be required to join the IBEW Union.

Essential Functions:

Ability to work with blueprints, diagrams, sketches, and symbols. Must have an understanding of work item specifications, electrical installation standards, processes and materials.Review specifications, references, and schedules of assigned work items.Communicate verbally, or in writing, all deviations identified in the specified scope of work. Originate Inspection Deficiency reports (IDR’s).Ensure all work activities, by helpers, is performed in accordance with safety, quality, and industries standards. Perform other related duties as assigned.Must be able to fulfill job requirements as directed by management.

Qualifications: 

High school graduate or equivalent, and minimum three (2) years shipboard Electrical experience
